Hello--Bontai Joe--or one of you the "green" folks here---I know where there is a front tine de-thatcher (for the small JD lawn tractors) close by, and was wondering--the two arms that come back--do they hook, per say to the lift attachment>>--How would it be raised?? And can it be used w/ the deck intact?

Have to call the man back in a couple hours- I would modify it to either use on front of my Scotts, or one 0f the Wheelhorse..
Thanks--

Mountings are different for different tractors. Lift lever is manual, just slides back & hooks on a bolt on the mount on mine. I didn't have the lever yet when I took the picture, it would be the red line.

o.k.--just got off the phone with the gentleman--he has the handle, springs, brackets, and the manual--etc.--said it came off an older 165 tractor-used it maybe 10 times...

{They must be hard to find, at least in this area--I've been kind of looking for awhile}

I bought mine on ebay, then the mounting bracket from a member here. Ended up with about $200 in it!

That would have been my next question--I don't want to put a lot into something I'll only use two/three times a year--
but I haven't done my place in a while....So....

Depends on what tractor you're going to use it on, my 110 mounting bracket is different.

Here's a photo of it....
You can also get side extensions for it to make it wider. They just bolt on the ends thats what the holes are for. There was also a helper spring if I remember right to aid in lifting it on my 425. slkpk

Still loaded in the back of my truck...pic's forthcoming...:eek:mg:

Sorry I missed this earlier. The dethatcher part itself is pretty much the same for all tractors, the mounts differ depending on what model you want to attach it to. Deere was pretty good about standardization, so if it fit the square fender 110 and 112, it also fits the 210, 212, 214, 216, 300, 312, 314, 316, 318, 320, 330, 332 and the 140 and 120. Not sure about the stuff built after 1992 using the same mount, but I suspect it's different. After a 4 year search, I got one about 4 weeks ago at an auction for $30. It's missing the lift handle and one wheel. So I know what it's like trying to find an affordable one. They sell for over $300 new.

Joe--that's what I paid for this one, and luckily--it's complete, along with some extra springs/manauls, etc--I need to go to Deer'es website-and get the handle number, 'cuz that's all I'm missing.....Going to try to adapt it to the front of my Scott's w/ the bagger--if not Green implement might be on the front of a RED 'Horse...

You made a good buy. I paid $70 for a 42" and then had to fab some mounting brackets to fit my 1650MF. Mine has only got one wheel in front and I have discovered two wheels would be a lot better. I fabed an offset hitch for the rear and a mower discharge shield. The shield makes the mower leave a 6" wide trail and the offset hitch pulls the lawnsweeper to pick it up. I dethatch, mow, and sweep in one pass.

Thanks for the responses-:thanku:
-and as you folks know from me hangin' around--nothing (at least in my life) just GOES away...Every deal/every escapade is an adventure unto itself...
:duh:
Bad/Good--Let's roll w/ the story---
After purchasing the afore-mentioned De-Thatcher from a private owner last week.. and missing two important parts...I, on this Monday, am (literailly) standing @ the JD parts counter--ordering the parts I need--manual open in front of me..he's looking/pondering--but very, slow...(This dealer needs some GOOOOD help.):Disgus:

{RING/RING} _
Cell Phone--I'll take it outrside, I say, whilst you look...

It's the previous owner I'd bought the stuff from--

"Hey, Glenn--I cleaned out my shed this weekend--found those missing parts--Oh, I work down by the airport--I'll stick them in my trunk--call me when you can come by..".:eek:mg: (not far from me)
*****
I go back in the dealer-cancel that order, but, in the meantime, of wandering the lot--- had seen a 400/430 series out back w/ two front mount-brackets I needed for this application--so I did order them--since I won't have time in next two weeks to fab anything up.....
Life is good--Folks!!
You'll sleep tight--I sure will!

I got a new one at a household auction for $30. 4 years ago. I didn't know then it was a front unit so I put a drawbar on it. Goes behind my 78' sears 12 horse. Works great then I pickup with my new X324.
I've got too many trees and turns to use on the front anyway.

Raisin--I know, I had just been keeping my eyes open for last year or so...most of my space is wide open, but I did have to change my whole game plan once I got it and realized how far out it set--but no big deal..
It will just look like a Christmas set-up..
.(JD Green on front of a Red Wheelhorse)...
Think they'll stone/run me out of town??:sorry1:
