well cold weather is starting to hit our area
and i,m done with her till spring
i,m not doing a complete restoration

but i will paint the outer frame, fender deck, tower, hood and cowl
the tractor has to much green so engine and some other small parts
will be a different color

i,m replacing the seat with a squarer style metal seat i,m not making it 100% original

the engine seems to run ok so i,m not going to rebuild it now
i did fix the oil leak, new oil pan gasket
as i said before,i will need a new flywheel

as far as decals go, NO WAY i,m going to pay for those high price decals
a was a pro decal installer and can have new decals made up for cheaper

BTW those diamond plated ramps i got for a buck at a garage sale this pass summer

well i hope i can rebuild the hydro pump, the bracket will need welding
and the pin on the pump spool will need replacing (winter project)

well i guess that's it ,i don't have a lot of pictures,i have limited use of a camera
thanks guys for your support

I would make the engine tins & air cleaner base/cover black, along with the front axle. Also the grille and rear axles/hubs.

Like the satin black dash idea. I would try the motor Fire Engine Red, I would like to see how the orange turns out. :fing32:

You gotta a garage. Get a little heater like I do and keep busy. I have been finishing up my blower for the 110 and then onto other projects.
By the way, looks good so far!

I'm at the new decal stage and the instrument panel decal is NLA and I was wondering what some of you have done to the panel. I figured I would paint it semi-gloss black but then I do not have a source for the little decals that I would need for the panel. Any ideas?

i see those decals on ebay all the time
or you can go on line and order custom made decals or google john deere decals
you can also get vinyl lettering from your local office supply store

for the side decals that go on the hood, forget the 40+ dollars
outline the oid decal with tape, then remove old decal and mask hood
spray paint where old decal was with yellow paint or you can use wide yellow vinyl tape
then get the black john deere name decals or use vinyl lettering
you also can use chrome or silver pin striping for the border to look more original
google how to install pin stripe
all under 10 ,15 bucks

Cool to see another 68 getting another lease on life. Brings back memories of resurrecting my 112. :fing32:
