Well seem that the last one to mow with my Mom's new 2454 left the key on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:Disgus: :Disgus:

Went from 8 hours on the hourmeter, to 100!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 What do you think, should I just leave it, or replace the meter???? Mark it down somewere on the tractor??? just buckup and deal????

If it were me I would probably just write down the hours and keep track of it like that. If your going to resale it that way the buyer knows your being up front with him. slkpk

Id rather be off by 8 than 100.Those meters dont cost to much!i would get another one.Hmmm!I wonder if you reversed the polarity on the meter if it would go backwards.Naw! couldnt be that easy.

You could buy a new hour meter, leave the key on for 8 hours and you'd be right on and not have to worry about trying to explain the extra hours if you ever want to sell it. If it's only for your own use and you don't plan on selling it I wouldn't worry about it, just remember you'r over by about 100 hours.

What's to keep the same thing from happening to the new hour meter? You could get quite a collection of used hour meters. Wouldn't a replaced hour meter would raise more suspicion when trying to sell than explaining some of the hours are from leaving the key on?
Maybe if it happens again at around 100 hours you could put the first hour meter back in and be right on time!:sidelaugh

For people who leave the key on i wouldnt think it would be too hard to add a buzzer to the circuit with a about a 15 second delay. When you turn the key the buzzer would sound for 15 sec or so telling you that the key is on.

Your next meter needs to be a vibration activated unit so this doesn't happen again!! No wires, no mess.

How do you leave a key on for 100 hrs anyway. Is it that when your off the seat the engine wont run but the key is still running the meter. If this is true i would think that a buzzer could remind you to turn off the key or the seat saftly feature could disable the meter as well.
