I just picked up a John Deere F935 mower. I have to replace the fuel selinod, water pump, and drive coupler and I think she should be good. I have already replaced the fuel filter and air filter, with plans to change the engine oil and trans along with filters. One thing I have noticed is that the mower seems to go a lot faster in reverse than forward. I might be jumping the gun since I know the trans fluid is low and I have not changed it yet, but I was wondering if it is possible that some hoses got swapped around since I know that forward is 10mph and reverse is 5mph. Thanks for the help.

So i was able to change the engine and trans oil along with the filters. I did need to be done, but was not my solution to the problem. What limits the speeds for forward and reverse? I know that this mowers wiring has been messed with because there are wire nuts all over and all of the safety have been bypassed. My next guess is that something with the wiring might be wrong or swapped around. Any help is appreciated thank you

Congrats on the f935, those front mounted mowers are pretty cool. But I don't know a lot about them. I would think forward/reverse is just controlled by the pump linkage. Could the cam on the pump be swapped?

I looked at jdparts last night and I would have today it's the linkage.

These F series front-mount mowers seem real popular lately!
When I saw this I thought the same thing. I tried to buy on and there have been 2-3 other threads about them. Plus there are two here on CL right now.
