Hey guys. I am totally unfamiliar with JD products except what I have learned here in a year or so. Needless to say, I have but scratched the surface of JD knowledge.

My problem is I have a 155C (made in 2006 only) and it has the 48" EDGE deck. The deck was off of the tractor when I got it. From the schematics on the parts site(s) I can figure out most of what I need for suspending it from the lift, but not all of it such as there was ONE black bracket on the back of the deck, but not the other. I cannot find it in the exploded parts list ANYWHERE on the lift linkage, deck or tractor diagrams. There are no captive spring clips like on other decks (like I have seen on other JD decks and my Cub).

I also would like to know since I am trying to rebuild the deck slowly but surely if there are any other decks that would fit this tractor such as the ones off of any "L" series? Larger or smaller....I dont care. Just so it mows again! It may save me some gray hair and blood in the long run just to get a "nused" deck! :greendr:

My dealer is not really forthcoming with information regarding repairs and part fitting because they want to get paid for doing it. Im not complaining much, but if its a simple question that may lead to a sale such as a newer deck, why not tell me what other decks will fit? Oh well...their loss.

To start with welcome to MTF, and not all dealers are made equal nor helpful and then some don't care and then others don't know.
Just sit for a spell and you will get more than the answers you are looking for and then you will have the fun of figuring it all out.

Enjoy yourself while your here and the only reason you need the dealer now is to purchase some of the items you want or need.

Thanks to all that replied. As always, nice to get a little help here and there.
I got the same diagrams that joecdeere provided from my local dealers online parts lookup and still cant find the two brackets. I located a picture of the single one I have mounted on the deck. It mounts to the rear lift brackets on the deck and I have NO idea what the part numbers are. It looks to have two studs with hairpin clip holes through them, but I do not know what they are for. You may have to zoom in a little. I couldnt resize or crop to get them bigger. :dunno:

The eye bolt(s) I know go over the lift mechanism under the tractor in the second pic, but I dont know where it connects too on the deck, nor how but Im guessing the trunion at the bottom of the eye bolt.:dunno:

Maybe these two pics will help a little more. I forgot I had them on here from when I picked up the tractor last year. I got in the middle of fixing the deck and had to deal wiht other things and forgot where I was. You all know where Im coming from, right????? LOL!

There's a "trunnion" that should slide onto the eyebolt at the back of the deck. You must turn the eyebolt sideways through the hole in that yellow bracket at the back of the deck. Once it is through, turn it upright and hook the eyebolt onto the lift shaft, then stick the cotter pin (and/or washer) in front of it. Hope this helps!

Well, I think I found the problem. It is a 48" The Edge deck, but its off of an "L" series mower! Thats why I couldnt find the brackets or figure out how it all goes together.

I guess its going to be a little experimentation and fabrication to get it to work right. Im just glad I didnt buy parts in advance only to have to return them....I hate doing things twice...or three times....or four.............

X2 I know on my l118 the lift brackets connect on the deck with them "C" Channel style brackets

The 54" from a 190C, G110, LA175, or D170 will fit. That's it.

There are no other JD decks that will fit, as the 100-series use a totally different attachment and drive method from the other JD's.
Well if He want's to Put On a smaller deck any of the 42inch or 48inch from the L100 thru The D100 series will also fit:thThumbsU

Thanks Sergeant, but bigger is better is my motto. Well, that and "If you can't fix it, get a bigger sledgehammer". There is a set of mounting hardware for a D on eBay I may get. I'm sure I can scrape together some kind of working mounts out of it and the deck. Just confusing to a novice jd owner to deal with what the parts place says and what is in front of you. When they don't jive, it makes life complicated........and my head hurts, lol! I don't do that too often.

42's won't due to the manual PTO. Yes they will mount up, but the deck drive is wrong given his electric PTO.
With the Right Parts the 42inch Can Be Made to work I Have seen a Few G110 with the 42inch deck When the L120 & L130 Came Out My Deere dealer would Put 42inch deck On them for customers who would Pay extra for It:thThumbsU

Well, after a year I finally found the deck number but now have a new problem. Part number for the deck isnt listed in the JD parts online. Well, not the full part number at least. :banghead3:banghead3:banghead3 and it is definitely not the original deck for the tractor.

It may be simpler to buy a "nused" deck and suspension hardware and just be done with it. So much for trying to save money. I hate to spend $800+ on a new deck for a 2006 tractor that was a one year model. I dont think I would ever get my money back out of it :thSick:

No pics because of getting ready for the storm, but I think I have it figured out! Lookes like everything will mount up right and run just fine.

I bought the long deck lift arms for the 155D front, the short rear lift arms from the "D" series deck that take place of the "eye bolt" mounts and another plate for the other side of the deck to pin them too. It should mount up and hang fine and as long as I have the right size belt, should be up and running after cleanup from the storm.

I will get pics. If it works I can honestly say it was more "thinking about it" than actually doing it.....so simple even I could do it!

Well, I am at least partially happy now.

I have the deck installed (hung) and leveled. Everything pieced together like a charm and its leveled as best as I can get it. Man are those aftermarket spindles a pain! They didnt come with nuts for the blade OR the pulley. One is 5/8-16 and the other I forget, except it too is 16 TPI. I went to ACE to find the nuts and it was like pulling chickens teeth, so they are a rare bird here I guess.

Now all I have to do is route the belt correctly and I will feel better when I change out the other two spindles and blades. It should run and cut like a dream then.

Thanks for all the help and suggestions! I will try and get pics tomorrow.

Well, here are the pics. Not much to look at, but at least they are pictures, lol!
Looks all but new body wise, but the deck needs a little to be desired, but it runs and cuts like the others.

Thanks for all the help and suggestions!:trink39:
