3 old Lawn Boys

While at the local scrapper today, I noticed 3 old Lawn Boys. One is an old Lawn Boy with an Iron Horse motor. He is going to take them to the scrap yard, and I told him some members here might be interested in them. They are located in Eastern Iowa 20 minutes north of the Quad Cities (Davenport). Any idea on what the value would be on these? He is not looking to make big money on them, he would rather someone fix these up rather than destroy history.

Any idea on what would be a good price for a forum member to buy these at? He is just looking at scrap price, but the one is from the 1950's and seems to be pretty well complete.

They are in Low Moor, just west of Clinton on Hwy 30. The scrapper is going to be taking them to the scrap yard. I'm sure he picked them up from clean up days or something.

I agree with Shawn that someone should keep those from going to scrap. If I still lived down there I would probably be on my way to get them in the trunk of my car. Nazi, you are very close.

if he's planning on scrapping them, you think he'd take scrap value. what are they worth in scrap nowadays, like $20 for all three? I don't keep up on that stuff.

Hi Guys! I am certainly willing to travel to Low Moor to pick these up if someone is interested in them. If the original poster of this find has any further details as to how much the scrapper wants for all three mowers and when and where they can be picked up, I'm glad to help. I just don't have the room to store these at home for very long so it would have to be something that was arranged ahead of time as far as who wanted them and how they were going to get them. Bill

If anybody wants the owners contact information P/M me. I do not know what he wants for them, and he doesn't have the internet at home. It's best to cut out the middle man. I told him I could post these for him just to save them from the scrap yard.

I don't know how I'd be able to get it, but I'd like to have that Iron Horse. I have veveral of them, but a couple of them have hurting decks. That one looks decent.

Hi all! I have asked the original poster for the contact information and have not heard back yet. If I get the information I may try to contact the guy to see if he still has the mowers and how much he would need to have for them. I will keep you posted. Bill
