I had a lab puppy that chewed on everything. I didn't think she would chew the lawnmower but she proved me wrong.
OooooWeeeee!!!! I've got an 8 mos. old Gold Lab that I love but **** they chew on everything, don't they? OT-I have a music studio in my home and he's chewed on the furniture, everyones shoes, clothing, socks......instantly destroys any toy we buy for him. (I know I am the dummy here but our house is large so we try to keep him in the house with our Collie. They get along well but she-the collie never acted like this mutt) He chewed all the rubber and part of the plastic frame of sustain/Damper pedal of my keyboards. He likes your feet and somehow in watching me play and depress the pedals, he decided it might be fun to chew on that. :dunno:

It's still a little cool in NC so I thought about putting him out in my garage/storage but after hearing 2 people talk about dogs chewing up the wiring harnesses, I remember that both my Craftsman LT's live out there too. :banghead3 Anyone want a "nice" dog? :crybaby:

Yeh bill i used the 200 watt 3 amp diode. did not have the lighting lead on it so I wired in the lighting wire with the charging wire off of the stator. just have to put it on a switch. also I am putting the fuel solenoid on a switch as well. I may take your advice about the other stator lead. I may wire it in as well so it will charge faster. Thanks

Well, if you try to run the lights off the stator charging lead you're charging at about -2 AMPS.
The Lighting lead is 5 AMPs.
The charge lead is only 3.
You get more out of the lighting lead because it's AC.
Convert it to DC (diode) and you lose about half the current because you don't use the negative part of the sine wave.
IF you are going to use lights for more than a SLIGHT % of the time, use the light lead.
Even if you could successfully (I'm not totally sure it works) put a diode on each lead for charging, your total capacity is only about 5 AMPS. Head lights will draw about that, so you'd end up with ZERO charging. Maybe even a deficit???? while the lights were on.
