Has anyone ever heard of a JD 208? It looks to be the same as the 210, but I'm assuming it has an 8Hp engine. I was just wondering, cause I seen one on Craigs list and I had never heard of one befor so I figured it is kinda rare? Any input? :dunno:

The 208 was only marketed 1 year in 1978 though production did start in 77 it was another try by Deere at a entry Level 200 series with a 8HP Kohler The 208 also did not have the Variator Drive it was just a straight gear driven 4 speed Tractor and they are rare Not many were Made'
They did not market it as being able to take the Hydraulic lift or Electric lift Kits But Both will work on it. Boy I wish it were closer I would scoop that up in a heartbeat You more likely to find a Model 200 before a 208 and it can take all the same attachments as the rest of the 200 series made 1975 till 1987:thThumbsU

It appears to have been pretty well taken care of, judging by the seat. Quite possibly a good collectors` item. Did the ad mention how it ran, or the price?

I have a 208. Had it for 2 years now. It's a tank. Great low gears too. Just puchased a A37 snowblower for it to use this winter. If we ever get snow.

It would also use the same attachments from the 110's and 112's from '68 to '74 correct?

I sure hope so....I just picked it up this week, but had to order parts to attach it properly. I have seen the A37 on youtube, and it sure looks like it works well. Only time will tell for me.

Yes the attachments off square fender 110's and 112's would work on the 208 model.

Thats some great information thanks. I run across alot of strange little tractors. Some I know some I dont. lol Thats why I turn to you guys. Thanks

does 8hp kohlar have enough power for snow blower or plow blade??
Yes My Little 7Hp Cub Cadet 70 Can run a Blower or a Blade even the Deere 110 was 8Hp and it could run a PTO driven tiller, Blower or Blade and even a Loader and it started with a 7Hp Kohler in it:thThumbsU

The 110's Round Fenders were all 8 hp and ran a full range of ground engaging equipment. Obviously you won't go through the snow quite as fast as if you had 12 HP but it'll still knock it out!

Edit: The 1963 110 Round Fenders had a 7 HP engine in them! Thanks Sergeant!

A 208 is a "decontented" 200-series designed to hit a lower price point as has been described. Unfortunately, not low enough (or enough different from a 210) so few were sold.
Just to hit on what ET said
1978 Prices
208 without deck or attachments $1,650 at MSRP
210 without deck or attachments $1,995 at MSRP
BTW the 208 in 78 was the same Price as a 210 in 1975
:thThumbsU

wow just how rare are these i just had a guy call me with a 208 and a 400 for sale both run and the 208 has a deck with it both for 600. guess i need to call him back
For $600 for Both they would be sitting it My Garage already:thThumbsU
