-Good choice on your tractor. My Dad bought his BX25 just under two years ago and hasn't stopped running. it. I think he has a little over 500 hours on it right now. The only thing he has had to replace was just the small o-rings on the hydraulic connectors for the rear bucket. He's rigorous about keeping up with the hourly maintenance and he definitely works that BX25 hard, but he doesn't abuse it. Take care of your tools and they will take care of you...

Is your blower a front or rear mount? I thought you mentioned a 3ph with it...

I'm going to be taking delivery of my 51 Landpride rear mount blower soon for my BX1860. It weighs almost 400lbs so it's hopefully made tough too!

Ditto. I haven't been able to find anything about a new 55" blower on the Kubota website. It sounds like a beast.

Kubota offers some beefier front blowers for the B series, that use a larger 18" fan (vice 16"), but none of them measure out at 55". It would be nice to see a "commercial" grade blower for the BX that uses the larger fan.
A 18" fan is over 20% larger in cross sectional size, so this is significant - congrats on the new machine! I look at my B2620 every night too and sleep better thinking about the next job with her.

Congrats and it looks like a very nice setup and great to grampa on it. slkpk

Thanks for all the reply's guy. CHDinCT I use a 2010 cub cadet 1054 for cutting the grass it works too well to justify buying the mmm, although just yesterday I met a guy cutting his grass with a bx23 and I was actually really impressed with the end results. Thanks for the great comments on the lakefront property. I am very luck to have a perfect view for waking up and watching the sun set. I will try to get some close up pictures of the 55"blower later tonight or tomorrow. If there is any specific shots that anyone would be interested in just let me know.

-I think Dad has the 60" deck with his BX25. He's never once complained about the job it does. And that is mowing at home and at the flying field where they fly giant scale RC airplanes.

Sorry I was wrong about the cub cadet. It's actually an SLTX 1050, 25 hp with a 50" deck. It cuts the grass very well. I will keep using that unless I find a great deal on some turf tires and rims and a 60" mmm finish mower.

I was also wondering if there are any threads for pictures of these Botas at work and the projects they have done. I found a couple that seemed like they tried to get one started, but never found much.

They are probably too busy outside working their tractors, to take the time to post pictures.
Plus, it's hard to photo yourself while working your tractor.
Here's my attempt...

This is not a Kubota-specific thread, but it does show what can be done by a SCUT, plenty of which are Kubotas:

What Can A SCUT Tractor Do?

Thanks for the link UrbanTractor. It's cool to see these little workhorses getting the job done.
I tackled a pretty hard working day for the BX today. worked it non stop from 9:30 to 3:00 moving rocks, fill, cedar logs and poplar logs a bunch of gravel and leveled out the yard. All this work today and more tomorrow. I have to say that this machine works really great and can do quiet a bit for a sub-compact. I am going to get some pictures tomorrow to give you guys an idea of some of the stuff this little BX was moving. I did get a chance to test it's limits and now I know what they are for lifting capabilities.
I only have two small questions about these sub-compacts.
1. It seems to be very bouncy when driving with a load in the FEL. Would loading the tires help with this?
2. I have read somewhere on this site about these tractors having a common whining noise that is produced by the HST that gets magnified by the ROPS and acts like a tuning fork or something. Has anyone figured out a solution to this? I heard that taking the ROPS off makes the noise go away. Even though the noise is a pain I wouldn't want to remove the ROPS. I was wondering if spraying the inside of the ROPS with an expanding spray foam would help?

Anyways any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here are a couple pictures as promised of the 55" snowblower I bought with the tractor.
Oh and one more picture of the lake view.

I like your snowblower: looks like the drive system is contained--no exposed chain.
As far as the bounce goes with your BX25, that is something you have to live with. I almost got knocked out of mine while in rabbit speed after hitting a bump with no seat belt on. As for loading the tires: check your manual. They recommend that you not use loaded tires with the backhoe attached. Here's a pic of my snowblower. It is made up in your neck of the woods, a Meteor by the Martin Company. I run it on my B3030; couldn't take the cold on my BX25.

BXGuy, you could also try installing some insulating material between the ROPS mounting flanges and the fenders. I have loaded tires and it is still somewhat bouncy with a loaded FEL, but not uncomfortably so.

AStanton, you meant past tense, right? The cab makes a world of difference. :D

Thanks for the advice guys. AStanton that's a nice B3030 and the cab would win me over as well. Looks like you have a nice place to work your toys. I'm not looking forward to blowing snow this winter without a cab. I am thinking of getting a soft cab to at least keep me dry.
APinNY the insulator idea seams like a good one. I will try to get a rubber pad or something that I can make it from and try that out.
I guess I will just have to get used to the bounce and adjust my driving habits a little.

The cab is sweet for the cold. However, I really don't like ac and I hate the green house effect it gives ya in the better weather without the ac on. Lot of farmers take the doors off during the better months. For me, I would probably end up busting the glass or stripping the hinge nuts when taking em on and off. Life is one big compromise.

bx25guy, the BX25 is spec'd with a lot of air in the tires compared to the other BX's I think due to the weight of the BH yielding a hard, bouncy ride. You can probably lower the PSI some for winter work (assuming you plan to drop the BH in winter).

Here's a mod I made to mine to help increase the ride on my BX25. Just a couple of compression springs held in place with a bolt and fender washer. Definite improvement in ride quality in my opinion. I did have to put a shim on the bottom of the seat frame to make sure the seat safety switch made contact when I sat in it as the springs made the seat ride a little farther off the seat switch.
