Just installed the JD rear receiver hitch and I'm very happy with it. I wanted to have a rear receiver to be able to use a atv rear cargo rack to carry a 25 gal. sprayer. The directions that came with it showed it bolted underneath the hitch plate but after mounting it there and looking at it, it hung down to low for what I wanted. With the bolt patern you can mount it on top so that's what I did.

I think it makes more sence to be on top and should be stronger sitting on top of the hitch plate vs hanging below it and you can still use the stock hitch hole.

The receiver itself is the exact same peice that is welded into the front bumper same length, holes and everything. They just welded the same peice to a plate instead of the bumper.

Here are a couple of pics and a bonus pic of my youngest of 4, Cullen who is 10 months old and hopefully a future MTF member!:thanku:

Thanks for the pictures. I've been thinking of adding one, and I'd probably mount it on top too, so long as my hitch didn't extend into the back of the transmission.

It shouldn't. There are 4 holes in the hitch for the pin so you can move it forward or back.

Bruce,

Thank you for the pictures! Cullen certainly looks right at home in the seat.

Looks great, it looks like it would work better on top of the frame. I have a receiver hitch on the 3 pt which is nice, because I can raise it up under my trailer tongue instead of letting the trailer jack down. It does extend the length of the tractor a lot, I like how compact yours is.

:ditto::ditto::ditto: for me too.:fing32:

And Cullen's smile I'm sure rivals his Dad's when in the seat.:fing32:

How do the front fenders mount on the tractor's front spindle? Would they fit on a x500? I have looked at the frame work but not sure how they mount. Can you take a picture and post the mount? Thanks
I had a X500 I don't think there is anyway to make them work. It would have to some custom fab job to do it.:sorry1:

Looks great Bruce, thanks for the pic. :thThumbsU

Before you know it, he will be bugging you to drive it by himself, they grow up fast. :trink39:
