Just ask your local JD parts guy. Get a genuine JD belt. I know that on my model 49, the belt was different for my 332 vs, my 318. Position of the front PTO is different.

That is in nice condition, but has the short chute. BUT I do see a small problem with the 317 hummmmmmmm :banghead3

Congrats! From the pictures, it looks like you may be missing a shear bolt at the end of the auger. Maybe it's just a shadow though...

OK Katt, I'll bite. What's wrong with my 317?

GMeanie,
No, was a little more than $180. It was on CL in New York.

tubes_rock,
Yes the shear pin is missing. This hasn't been used in ten years. The older gentleman who last used it mowed a path in the yard and hit a BIG rock.

I also need to find some new skids for it one side is almost worn through. Need some shear bolts too. Anyone got parts number for them? I have the manual and it doesn't have a parts list.

Go to the hardware store and buy some reg. bolts 1\4" I think, and I just weld some flat bar on the bottom of my skids works great and don't cost much. Good luck you will love it, as much as I love mine. Oh, P.S, you already have three bolts in the holder beside the drum that holds the cable. Have fun!!! Let it SNOWWWWWWWWWWW

Katt is our resident emblem checker. Don't worry, he would be in apoplexy if he ever saw all of my collection!

2nd picture........ Middle 1/2 of right side auger you can see a silver bolt on the left side you only see a hole.
Note: not all jD blowers have shear pins ( bolts) yours is a long chute model.

The spares are kept on the turning drum I think a total of 5 or 6

I see them! COOL! On the left side between the first and second auger blade on the backside of the blower you will see three bolts in a triangle pattern. Thanks for the help. I would like to find a tall chute for this. HMMMMMMM! Maybe I can just extend the existing one?

yea i see those, they are the xtra bolts, i dont see where they go in the auger....Im pretty sure my 49 does NOT have any so does that mean I have NO sher capacity
