I'd say it was used on very hilly terrain - about 20 years ago, I tipped my C10 and sulky on a hill (not fun). The extra stability of the dual wheels would be an asset on the sulky just as they are on the tractor.

OMG - he's asking $1k for a 5260 that needs some TLC (and doesn't run) with a chains, brush hog and sulky?

Ditto on that - I've seen knobbies on the sulky's but never a dual setup. Maybe that's the reason for the absurd asking price on that "great package."
 
No. In a hilly situation, the chains really are a necessity for traction - especially if there's morning dew on the grass. That was what my dealer recommended, and it worked like a charm.
 
I agree that the dual wheel setup would add a lot of stability on a hillside. Kinda neat.

I also use chains on my C8 year round. I won't run without them.
