My original JD345 seat went to happy land. I purchased a more modern version...a JD540 seat last spring. I like the 540 seat much better than the old one. But, I have notice there a difference between the seat one of the members here has and mine. The member seat has a 'storage compartment in back, and mine doesn't, but, it has four holes for what appears the storage compartment to bolt to.

Note: The storage compartment on the seat...

And here is mind without the storage compartment...Note the holes where something could be fitted.
Question: Did my seat came with it, but the dealer failed to ship it to me?

Its a net and can be ordered for any of the X300/X500 series seats right from JD. Seat looks great on your rig too!

That's a good looking 345 You have. The new seat looks good on it.:fing32:
About the seat back pocket. I just looked in my Attachments & Accessories catalog . It's called a Seat Net Kit , part # AM136046 retail price is $25.99

Here is a better (more clearer) than the one I posted earlier. This shows the seat kit as I had questions on.

Thanks, JD-X500 for the information on the seat back Net kit.

Would you mind checking your Net Kit and how it is attached to the seat. From what I can see from mine, the holes are not functional where screws could go.

After some searching on the item...AM136046, I've located the item. It is now called...Storage Compartment. I called my local dealer, and they have to order the item at a 2011 price of $26.99.

Last week I received email from a John Deere dealer back East...Bomberger's. I don't know how they got my email address. Anyway, they have the item in stock at $24.29. Of course there's that all whopper shipping cost involved. I'll keep checking around.

JD-X500, I think you are correct on the mounting. It looks like it may snap in to the four holes/indentations.

that seat looks GREAT on the 345

is it a direct fit?

can I ask how much it cost??

your 345 looks great BTW, your brake lever is actually still red, mine is orange assuming the PO let it sit outside...

the rubber pad on the hitch plate looks like a nice little mod too!

MXZRXP, Paid $137.99 for the X540 seat last summer, plus a few dollars shipping.
The old JD 345 seat bracket bolted right up to the X540 seat, without any modifications.
My 345 is 12 years old (1999 model) and has always be garage stored.

Wish my PO took such good care!

thanks for the pricing info, sure seems fair for that chair! :hide:

Ouch! I paid less than that for a X700 seat theough a dealer on this site but I can't remembere who it was. Bruce will know who it was.

When you receive your seat net kit, you'll have to drill out the holes for the fasteners and then attach the net. I don't remember if the fasteners are the plastic screws or if they just push in and lock into place.

They are plastic and are "barbed" ( only go in one way) You drill at an angle and push them in 5 - 10 minutes.
If it ever needs to come off you cut them off and they fall into the seat back.
I like mine !!!

My picture is making the rounds! :fing32:

My X500 and X304 seats don't have holes in the back, they just have dimples where you would make holes to mount the net kit.
