My neighbor and I were chatting today and he mentioned this old tractor he had sitting upon his lawn. Its not much, an old off-set tractor with a handcrank start and all of that, but the thing of it is he just does not know what kind it is. It has no builders plate that I can see.

He's not into computers so I told him I would put a picture of it online and see if anyone could tell what sort of tractor it is. Does anyone have any idea what company made this machine and what model it is? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Not certain but it looks like a model B Allis Chalmers.I'm sure someone with more tractor knowledge will be along to say for sure,as I'm just taking a stab at it! :fing32:

My first thought was also Allis, but I don't know models very well. Of course the first thing I GOTTA ask is, is the engine free? Think it can be restored to running condition?

Jesh, I would have to say you are right, from the picture someone else supplied, it looks too silmilair not to be an Allis Chalmers B series.

Just so you know, yes the engine does run and I think it is restorable. I think the rear tires are orginal, at least they are Maveric tires which I have never heard of before. The front tires are a different story, they look like automobile tires thrown on there for the heck of it.

My neighbor has a long family history in the area and I know he got it from his Uncle. I would not be surprised if my neighbor is only the second owner, or perhaps the third, but this tractor has spent its life in the area. I know this is not the place, but he is willing to part with it.

Drawbar:: this is all the more reason to save this neighborhood relic...That would be my next challenge..It doesn't have to have it's spot in the barn...not yet anyway..You don't want to feel bad when its gone... :trink40: B,
