So if you hold the plug wire the spark will send you running, almost knocked my socks off...but there is no spark jumping the plug gap. I also can't get the flywheel off, so I'm stuck...

Spray some PB Blaster/Liquid wrench or other penetrant around the flywheel on the crank and let it soak for a while. Be careful using a flathead screwdriver to pry on the back of the flywheel as it's made out of zink and can break easily. If it is still stubborn, you may need to use a puller.

Be very careful trying to pry the flywheel off. I tried that a bit, but had to use a flywheel puller to remove it. Even that required alot of force.

You will notice three small holes in the flywheel. They are not threaded, but if you thread them, you can use the type pictured below to remove it. Most auto stores sell them for $15 or $20.

Yours looks better than mine did when I got it. It was frozen to the ground and I had to use a pry bar to get it unstuck to take it home.

I completely tore mine down to clean it up.

You're lucky, you've got spark, I didn't on mine. I made my own puller to get the flywheel off. First I traced the flywheel pattern on paper and transfered that onto a piece of 1/4" flat stock. A 1/4" self tapping screw made the threads in the three holes in the flywheel, and 1/4" bolts and nuts through the stock to do the pulling. A few raps with a plastic mallet helped too. No doubt a store bought puller would be real handy to have.

Thats the thing, I don't have spark, I get a strong jolt if I'm holding the plug wire, but there is no spark on the plug, I don't know whats up, looks like I need to make a puller.

Either the plug is bad or it's a weak spark and is not firing the plug.
