I love the AWS machines. If I could have found an X749 when I was searching, it would be in my garage right now. I nearly bought an X495 AWS because the AWS impressed me so much.

Sorry to get off topic. Hopefully I will have some (unmounted) Versa Turfs to show soon.

The guy I bought my X585 from bought an X749 to replace it. He immediately fell in love with the X749. He also figured out that by flipping the support bar for the 45 loader that goes through the tractor frame, it was an easy fix to allow him to move the 45 loader from the X749 from the X585.

Was that guy in NC by chance?

When I was looking for Versa Turfs last year, every one was out, So, I tried the Turf Master Plus. They have one less row of tread than the Turf Master, with bigger lugs and more space between lugs. I think they do much better on traction than the TM's, and don't tear up wet sod.

Well thankfully I don’t spend much time in mud here in the city. 😂

Half of my order arrived today. Man, these things are HEAVY!
My rears arrived yesterday. Not sure where the fronts are yet. I figured that since they are made in China they come out of a different warehouse and hence the separate shipment.

UPDATE: According to Walmart, the fronts are on the way. I have not received any delivery alerts from FedEx or UPS so they must be in transit probably to the local FedEx distribution point.

I had contacted Carlisle inquiring about their Versa Turf tires SKU 6L0915 26x12.00R12. The website lists the rim width as 9.50". I wanted to know if they could be mounted on an 8.50" wide rim. If they could, will it change the ground contact of the tires?

Their response was :
Yes, they can be mounted on a 12x8.50 wheel. We list the 12x9.50 because that is the recommended wheel size and we try to follow Tire & Rim Association guidelines wherever possible. But 12x8.50 will work fine too.
The tire will be pulled in slightly more when using a 12x8.50 and would possibly affect the contact patch a little but should be minimal.

So it looks like they should work on my X495 AWS.

The tires fitting on the rim is not the problem. The question is will the tires when on the rims clear the deck and body of the tractor, especially at full lock and with different deck heights. You will need to just try it, or do some measurements before you hit the buy now button.

From the measurements that I took the other day, I should have clearance for them. I figure that they should clear by an inch plus for the deck. Definitely will not be able to run chains on them. Too close to the steering arms for my comfort. They would probably fit, but if one was a little loose, it would probably damage the steering arm and tie rod.

My front Versa Turfs arrived today. Will likely try to get them mounted next week.
