Oh my guys and girls I’ve done it now. Added a 2011 X748 to the heard. Clean, low hours, lots of implements. My 318 was new to me in September now I have the bug. I have a small lot but I see a lot of fun ahead.
Two or even three pallets would still be a better alternative to a wheelbarrow or caring by hand.Hey Lou,
Nice work there. Good to hear the report on the Versa Turfs in the mud. I just placed my order and should have a set here soon.
Hey I noticed your stack of bricks. What’s the plan there? I am going to be removing a lot of bricks from a walkway (being relocated), and needing to stack/transport them. Do you wish you had stacked yours on pallets so you could move them with the X7? That’s what I’m considering doing, but haven’t run any calculations to see how feasible that would be…
The bricks were recently added to my brick collection. Some are just red pavers some are old Belden bricks actually most are Belden bricks. Anywho I’m gonna place then around the shed. Now I think I’m gonna need more cus with the 748 I can move more dirt w/o renting a mini.Hey Lou,

Tested that out today. It is limited on the up side movement.Plenty of room lowered. Can the 3pt move up and down like that, or is there just one particular spot where it fits as long as you dont move the 3pt? Good trick either way, better than taking all the way to the ground and back.
As far as pallets, your tractor would have a hard time with pallets that had much brick onthem given that the 3pt is ‘pre-weighted’ to a significant chunk of its capacity and your bucket is not ‘quick attach’ meaning the load would be pretty far out in front.
BUT. There’s no reason pallets have to stay full size. Given the tractor and the general maneuvering constraints in your space i would probably cut any pallets i had down to something like 28” deep (full width still) and use what i cut off to reinforce the narrower remaining part. At that point i think theyd be a better match for picking up with your tractor, AND maneuvering through your space.
I built a small ‘pallet fork attachment’ with hooks on it that i could back the tractor up to and pick up and put down with the 3 pt without getting off. I wouldnt recommend anyone try to replicate my exact setup but such a thig could be built for your heavy hitch if you had a need for it.
Good eye my friend, yes indeed 3Pt drifts down. I don’t mind the drift but if I load (overload) it too much I can’t lift it again hence the bricks for props. The chain idea is intriguing, thanks.Judging by that cracked pallet sitting on the bricks, the 3pt drifts down under load? I'm not sure there's a convenient place for it on your tractor, but my Kubotas have a little 'chain slot' bracket from the factory that gives you a real easy place to 'chain up' the 3pt. I think one of them even has a length of chain already attached to the one of the arms and a little hanger made onto the side of one of the lift links that the chain hangs on when you're not using it. I didn't put it there but it's a nice thoughtful little thing that might be worth a few minutes of your time if the 3pt is indeed sagging and annoying you.
If you can get bricks for free id be 'paving' **** near everything. No guarantee it would look good (if i did it), but plenty of guarantee it would be less irritating than mud!
Thank you thank you, looks like my cab will be off for shimming and I’ll leave it off till H3 is available. I appreciate the update! LouJust an update on my lockout valve plans… I was intending to add the Aux-Hyd deluxe lockout valve under the pan, which would hold/lock the 3PH up unlike the 1/4 turn valve on the SCV.
But Aux-Hyd is working on an H3 kit for the X7 Ultimate series that will work with any model that does not have mechanical 4WD. Planned availability is fall 2022. I plan to add this as soon as it is available.
In talking to Ron, he explained that if I installed the deluxe lock-out kit now, it would be completely obsolete when I installed the H3 kit. (Meaning, it would serve absolutely no purpose.) So I am just going to suffer along for now until the H3 is available, and put the money toward that.
I don’t have the skills to put together a kit on my own. I’m impressed with people like you and others (X748SE) who can!!Just after i complete a H4 conversion they're coming out with this kit! It'll be interesting to see where it's installed; how it's installed and how much it costs. Sounds like a great option to upgrade this series of machines - especially for folks that don't want to put together a kit.
I am excited to see you install the kit.
Whoa. Interested to see this. Of course I have a x585 which is MFWD. Wonder if it'll be adaptable. I have no plans for a mower deck so maybe it's just a space thing? Will be on the lookout. The 3pt being tethered to the curl valve is all sorts of annoying if you have a loader and 3 pt.Just an update on my lockout valve plans… I was intending to add the Aux-Hyd deluxe lockout valve under the pan, which would hold/lock the 3PH up unlike the 1/4 turn valve on the SCV.

Unfortunately, as it was explained to me, his H3 kit won’t be marketed as compatible with the mechanical-4WD. That is because it will occupy the same location as the mechanical 4WD selector lever/linkage.Whoa. Interested to see this. Of course I have a x585 which is MFWD. Wonder if it'll be adaptable. So then it's just isolating the 3 pt/mmm lift cylinder? I've been reading a lot @X748SE about putting in a joystick for the loader then adding another set of valves (run from the levers) to run the 3pt and another rear remote (hydraulic top link is the idea). Mostly for fun but using a joystick for loader work is much nicer than the levers IMO.Unfortunately, as it was explained to me, his H3 kit won’t be marketed as compatible with the mechanical-4WD. No doubt some intrepid M4WD owner will figure out a workaround!
Yes, it uses the third hydraulic spool fir the rockshaft cylinder. Could be just deck lift if no 3PH fitted. Both if so.So then it's just isolating the 3 pt/mmm lift cylinder? Think you could you put his curl lockout on the lift function and then use his kit for live rear remotes? Any reason that wouldn't work?
They have 2 versions, but the live rear remote kit where both the rear remote and in my case front loader lift are connected. At least that's how I'm understanding this works. Still pretty green with understanding these hydraulic circuits. [emoji51]Yes, it uses the third hydraulic spool fir the rockshaft cylinder. Could be just deck lift if no 3PH fitted. Both if so.
Which kit do you mean for the rear remotes?
I like dry stacking too. When my wife said she wanted some stepping stones in the front garden I just let out a big sigh. Once I got the first stone down, it took on a life of it's own. Turned out to be one of the most enjoyable projects I've ever done.Good eye my friend, yes indeed 3Pt drifts down. Some bricks were free I’m buying them these days. Sounds like an offer to come lay some bricks for me! Ha Ha
I actually like working with hard scape material, I have a pretty good degree of success I’m just so slow.
The mud is kinda fun but side slipping next to those pesky trees is annoying. Took out a lens yesterday unfortunately. I felt it touch but didn’t see it, smartest move would have been get off n look. Oh but not me, just a little more gas should do it then crack!
Thanks again for the chain idea again. A more expensive and complex fix is what UrbanTractor is doing. AuxiliaryHydraulics has a kit to lock that baby in place under heavy load. Gotta drill a hole in floor board and pull fender. I don’t think I wanna do all that but I may. I need to pull fender anyway cus I wanna bump pressure a bit. I’m dragging my feet cus of that cab.
I like dry stacking…

The flagstone was fun too!
