I have a MTD Bolens riding lawnmower. It want start. I checked the battery, ignition switch, solenoid switch and the starter. Everything checks out as ok. What could be the problem now? I took off the flywheel probably a year ago, because of the same problem. Then I didn't really do anything. The flywheel would break the key and the timing would get off. Now I have another key, but I cannot get the flywheel flush with the motor shaft. Is it suppose to be flush? I don't remember. What else do I need to check?

It will not even try to start. I hear one click and nothing else.
