Trying to get info I have a Rototiller, rear tine, Actually looks like a TROY Built. I saw a picture of similar one on Bontai's gallery. Model # is HH60105079E S/N 2074D

I am looking to rebuild motor. Connecting rod went south..Crank and cyl wall look fine. My neighbor borrowed It (wrong move) and from what I can tell carb spring came off and he set linkage so motor just over rev'd until kaboom.
I cannot find anyother markings on the plate all worn off except what is stamped. Any Ideas.

Thanks

A pic would be most helpful. If it IS a Troy-Bilt, replacement engines are readily available and reasonable in price, from 6 to 10 HP.

I have it all apart right now. I saw one of you picts earlier that was exact same unitbut cannot find it again. It was a red unit walk behind. Motor sits up front and drive engage is basically lifting motor up and down to tension 2 belts. Has a clutch wheel that shifts into the same pully for reverse.

ROF Don't sweat it Bassman, we all do it, nice thing is you can always select the EDIT button beside your post up to about 2 hours I think, and go in and make any changes you want, then just select the Save Changes button :fing32:

Thanks Guys, I got info back from local Napa this morning, It is a Tecumseh engine. I forgot to get HP it was but will. They ordered piston, rings, connecting rod, and gaskets. $ 85.00 and a few hrs on the bench. I'm gonna repaint the whole rig while its apart. I shoot some picture to post to my gallery.

Thanks Greg. I want to look into geting a manual to determine how the linkage for the carb should be set up. When I aquired it the springs somewhat jury rigged. I'd rather find out how to do it right once than mess with it every time I need to use it.

according to your #s its a 6hp.

they make great minibike motors. (i have scars to prove it) ROF

Yep, it should definitely be a 6 HP if it's the original Tecumseh motor.

Well here is the update, Got the parts and did the rebuild. set everything up on the bench and motor fired right up. Issue I have now is back to how engine cooked in the first place. Neighbor that borrowed decided to adjust carb etc.....In doinf so the linkage for the carb, springs, rod for govenor etc are all not where they should be or missing. The motor is a 6 hp Tecumsehs
on a horse troybuilt. Does anyone know if there is a diagram available somewhere on how linkage should look?
Right now there are 2 springs and a solid rod that looks like it would go to the advance arm for under load. I will try to get pictures tonight.
Thanks for any feedback.

I was able to down load the manual from another site and got it figured out I think..It runs. Now I am having an issue with the crankcase breather pushing oil into the air filter. I pulled it appart and am going to replace the checkvalve, tubing and gaskets.
I only put what was called for for oil fill. No leak on the bench but when mounted back on the tiller it sits at a pretty good angle so may not be a problem. Tubing was cracked so will replace.
