I was cutting the grass, stopped and turned the tractor off to empty the bags, and now it won't start. once it made a whirring sound while trying to start, now nothing. I've got 12.6v at the battery. Dash not lighting up.

Recently I blew a fuse as my PTO solenoid was shot. Even with a charged battery, dash didn't even light up.

Replaced to PTO solenoid and fuse and I was in business.

You can test by replacing the associated fuse and disconnect the PTO solenoid. If the tractor now has power, starts up, and continue to run when you engage the PTO switch (disconnecting the solenoid won't engage the deck), signs point to the solenoid being bad.

I checked and cleaned the contacts on the fuse box at the top of the engine and none of the fuses are blown.
What does "Replaced to PTO solenoid and fuse and I was in business" mean, and is there a fuse elsewhere I should be checking?
PTO is not engaged.

My PTO solenoid was bad. When I would engage the PTO, it would blow a 25 amp fuse and I would loose all power. If I replaced the fuse, I had power and could start the tractor. Once I engaged the PTO, it would blow the fuse and I'd loose all power again.

If I replaced the fuse (under the dash) and disconnect the PTO solenoid, I could start the tractor and engage the PTO (with the solenoid disconnected, the deck doesn't engage) and not blow the fuse. This to be confirmed the PTO solenoid was bad. I replaced the solenoid and made sure I had a good fuse installed.

I disconnected the battery and put a charger on it. It started right up after 3 hours.

My 757 started having the charge light on all the time. The deck quit while finishing mowing. I disconnected the PTO clutch and it was a dead short. I checked the schematic and there was no fuse. The clutch was drawing more current than the engine was generating. I’m in the process of replacing the clutch. I put a battery maintainer on it after getting it back into the garage. It stayed in charge mode for a very long time. I even disconnected it and reconnected it. Shortly after it showed charged. PTO clutches can draw a lot of current. I replaced mine with one from Xtreme Outdoor Power Equipment. They make good products that are serviceable and lower cost than OEM. Just don’t make my mistake ordering one for the earlier serial numbers.
