Well its that time of year again! I really enjoy burning off the ditches and pastures. I've added some equipment to the Honda lately also. The sprayer is 15 gal which is just enough to make the front end really light:eek: , the Hitch is a 2" receiver with a 3 way hitch, and you can't go wrong with an adult beverage holder! :trink40:

Fourtrax,

Do you use the sprayer for wetting down the grass thats burning? I was wondering if a sprayer like yours would be good for fighting grass and brush fires. Would the nozzle on the sprayer allow enough water through it to adequately put a fire out?

Sarge sorry for the delayed response, but to answer your question YES! The sprayer even with the stock nozzle puts out pleny of water to actually put the grass fire (like the one in the pic above) completely out very easily. Mostly its used to wet the ground beside it and just keep it in the ditch and out of the field. I've since broke the plastic nozzle that came with it and replaced it with a better quality unit from the farm store that has a brass end. It puts out even more water now and should be more than adequate. Keep in mind it IS NOT a "FIRE HOSE" and will not put out a large brush fire, but a small grass fire is no problem at all.:trink39:

Fourtrax,

No problem, thanks for the reply. I would mainly use it for grass fires like the one you show. For some reason I didn't think they would put out enough water to do anything. Now I'll start looking around for a sprayer that is the right size. I have any older 1991 Suzuki 250cc 4X4 ATV that still runs nice to put it on. Thanks again for the reply.

No problem at all, My sprayer came from Sprayer Specialties. Here is a PDF of them. I would highly recommend getting the heavy duty wand as I said before I broke the plastic one that came with mine in a matter of weeks. The heavy duty one should be made of metal. you can also check Northern Tools or any Farm store for the sprayers and the wands. Last I knew the local Orschlens here had a sale going on. :fing32:

Fourtrax,

I have a Tractor Supply Company near me. If you get a chance, could you check out their web site? They have a 15 gal. sprayer that appears to have the heavy duty wand and I was wondering if this is the type of wand your talking about. Thanks again,

Curt.

I forgot to send you the link to the PDF I was talking about so here it is.

Min is the second one down. 14gal 1.8gpm

EDIT>>> Is this the one you were looking at?

http://www.tractorsupply.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay_10551_10001_48644_-1______14345|14384|56213|48644?listingPage=true&Special=false

If so I think that will work fine for you. That wand looks better than the one that came with mine. The one I upgraded too is just like this..

http://www.tractorsupply.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay_10551_10001_49508_-1______14345|14384|14387|56216|49508?listingPage=true&Special=false

I'd say for 99 dollars you can't go wrong with the one you found. :trink39:
