After 75 hours of operation I finally decided it was time to lose the roll bar on my BX2350. For me it was more of a safety hazard then a safety feature. First of all my property is relatively flat with alot of woods. I caught it on several limbs, a telephone pole, and my garage door. ( 3 times )
Everytime I used the tractor I had to constantly be worrying about catching the roll bar on something. Also, the weight of the bar is above the CG so it adds to the possibility of tipping over. I have had it off for about a month and have actually liked the tractor more. It makes the tractor feel more compact and manageable. I will just be a little more careful when on a slope or using the bucket.
I am still amazed at what a great tractor this BX2350 is. It has exceeded my expectations.

Sometimes a man has to do what a man has to do CJ, sounds like it was more of a hazard than doing any good, but like you said, just got to be more careful on any slopes. :fing32: My SIL's yard is so steep he has to keep his roll bar in place on his BX2230 simply for the safety factor, but he does'nt have any trees and such to catch it on. I've mowed his yard and believe the pucker factor makes you glad that roll bar is there just for peace of mind :ROF

CJ,

For $299 Femco will provide you with a foldable ROPS. Please take them up on their offer. While you describe a uptopian environment for a tractor, as soon as that loader is on, all bets are off. Why do I say this? Trust me, I know. JDFANATIC will never operate a tractor without seatbelt and ROPS.

In over 40 years of side hills, mowing steep banked ditches or discing spoil banks, I haven't had a problem. One main thing is go slow. If the wheel on the high side starts to spin, stop and back out. DON'T lock the rear end or use the brake on the wheel on the high side. It is spinning because it is light and you are getting close to going over. Wheel weights and loaded tires help immensely, especially on your balloon tires with small diameter rims. With the liquid in the tires there is only the air in the top of the tire. This stops the rocking and rolling. If you tip over while driving around with the loader up in the air and don't get killed, say to yourself, that was dumb and boy I'm lucky.
