MOUSE PROOFING WIRING

About a decade ago, auto makers switched to soy-based wire insulation. As we discovered when we had to replace the wiring harness in my wife's brand new car, rodents find it delicious . We looked into wire wraps, but full access to all the wiring can be an issue, and doesn't deter them from going where they ought not to be in the first place. The latter is an issue for tractors and small engines, in that aside from chewing wires, mice can get into and nest in small areas which can cause problems, e.g. cooling fins in small engines, etc.

So far, the best we've come up with is to spray the area around the car, the wheelwells and under the hood with an anti-rodent spray. We've also placed an ultrasonic/strobe gizmo under each car. So far, no more issues.
