Where is the compression release on JD LX 172?

Thanks I figured but wasn't really sure. That's something I'll have to research.

Are you having problems with hard starting? Check that the valve clearances are correct.

LX172 uses a Kawasaki FC420V. It does have a compression release mechanism on the cam (see below).
