I bought a used LT 155 and it ran fine the first couple times I used it. Then, I broke my foot and it sat under a tarp on the side of my garage and now wont start. The motor cranks, but won't fire over at all. I took the pan off of the bottom of the carb and there was gas there. The valve inside of the carb moves freely when choked. I replaced the negative battery cable and charged the battery, as well as cleaned off the ground for the motor. Now I'm at a loss and don't know where to go next. Spark plug was new at the beginning of the season and new gas has been tried. Thanks in advance for any help.

You could try a couple simple things 1st-
Check for spark.
If you have spark, try priming the carb with a couple teaspoons worth of gas and see if it fires.

If your spark is strong it's a fuel issue. Pull the fuel line off your carb and crank the motor. Gas should spurt out of the hose. I had a LT155 for 15 years, and the fuel pump never failed. I did have a magneto/ignition module die on me. Let us know what you find.
You could also check the main jet in the carburetor. I have had some that were so clogged that they wouldn't even try to start. It would just crank and crank.
Funny enough I just dealt with the same thing. I solved it by replacing the fuel pump. See here:
