Hi, I have a Troy-Bilt Tomahawk Pro model 47044 that I got with no ignition switch. Does anybody know what key switch this takes and where the wires go? Thanks, Pat.

I searched model 47044 and got zilch for parts list. So, you gotta wing it. Most all lawn tractor ignitions have 5 inputs:

B = Battery S = Starter solenoid M = Magneto (ignition coil module) G = Ground
and A = accessories (ignore this one)

You can find where the wires go and connect to the proper terminal on a universal ignition switch from an auto parts house or online.

Optional Electric Starter kit is #47509 (whole kit with starter) but I'm not able to find just the key switch.

Here's some links for manuals.

Here's a couple generic wiring diagrams to give you an idea of how to trace out the wiring on your chipper.

I just looked at pic - you have a recoil starter. Does it start pulling recoil? If not, make sure the wire coming from the ignition module/coil isn't grounding - that's the kill switch.
