I have never used one but like the thought as that way you don't have to thatch and mow at two separate times, so you can mow the clippings right after being thatched.

I've got one and like it.
Initially I purchased it when I bought my X540.
Sold the X540 and bought a 2305. Made a new
mounting bracket and now use it on the 2305.
Not only do I do my own property, I also hire out
in the spring and to other properties. For me, it
was worth the money. I don't remember what I paid though.
Maybe somewhere around $450, I just don't remember.
Saves a lot of time on raking.

I had the front mounted thatcher on my 425 and like the way it worked on flat level ground. If you have dips and low spots then you will need to approach those areas a little different so the tines will get in there and flip out the material. slkpk

I like mine, I have a real bumpy yard so it does miss some of the low spots so I hit them at a different angle or even touch them up with a hand held thatch rake. Hook up the yard sweeper and kill 2 birds with one stone.

This is what I was thinking with the thatcher in front........... :thThumbsU

I've always been skeptical of them. I've always heard a lawn sweeper does a much better job picking up the thatch than a bagger. Plus I've always heard it was better to use the thatcher and then pick it up a day later when it's had a chance to really dry out. This is how I did it anyway last year. I just have the Craftsman tow behind and Brinly sweeper. The combo worked fantastic last year.

Now this sure makes sense.........Thanks

It's not just a thatcher, it's a overseed soil loosener-upper, a tree debris storm damage rounder-upper and after a Roundup weed removal it's the best soil prepper I've ever used. If you can't pick up thatch with the dethatcher/PowerFlow combination in one shot then something's not adjusted right. If you ever need to deal with a patch of wet leaves in the Fall, then this is the way to go also.

Right now my front dethatcher is getting "blueprinted" (yellow padded:D) to attach to my Johnny Bucket lift frame for effortless raising and lowering (and because you can't mount it stock w/JB receiver in place on a GX).:)
