Sounds like a safety switch has become unplugged but I will let some of the Kubota owners answer things more specifically for you.

Sounds like the seat switch. Look under the seat and make sure it is plugged in.

Emily - If the seat switch is open, the tractor thinks there's nobody in the seat and will shut off the tractor if the PTO is engaged. The same thing happens if you are mowing and hit a bump and rise up out of the seat. The tractor thinks you've fallen off and will shut off the tractor. (not that I've ever encountered this before - tic)
