Hello Experts,
This 2 cycle trimmer was initially seized up. I unseized it by spraying WD40 into the spark plug hole. The carburetor was cleaned and it has spark. I spray some fuel into the engine, but it won't start. Is it dead?

Where did you check the spark...as it goes into the plug?...or at the electrode ...if you did it at the top of the plug, it could be just a bad plug...with the switch off, so there is no spark...remove the plug and have someone pull the starter rope while you put a thumb over the spark plug hole......see if you get any kind of push against your thumb...if you leave that switch on, you could get a shock

It can give you a shock if you are touching the right parts ......you may have flooded it....ok...now with the switch off and plug out...put a rag over the spark plug wire and over the spark plug hole...gas mist is going to shoot out....and pull the rope about 10 - 15 times pretty fast while holding the throttle wide open...if you have compressed air...blow some in to the cylinder and dry it out...the electrode on the plug , too.....put the plug back in connect the wire and hit primer about 3 times...make sure switch is on now engage choke and pull the cord...it should start

You are right. It's flooded.

I got it to start several times, but it only stayed on for a couple of seconds. Is it not getting fuel now? The primer bulb filled up when I primed it.
Sounds like you’d be correct in that it’s not getting fuel. You said that the carb was already cleaned, so it might need a new carburetor.

By new clean plug he just meant a brand-new spark plug.
You can likely find a carburetor on Amazon, if not then eBay. You just type in the brand and model of your machine followed by the word carburetor. Before ordering make sure it looks exactly the same.

Maybe the fuel lines are too small…?
