Looking for a bagger for my 1994 GT 6000 mod 917257730. In talking with Sears they gave me a part # of 24904 with a price of $475.00. Being the cheap old bugger that I am I started thinking about finding a used bagger and was wonder what differences I would need to be concerned about. I know there are different mounting brackets and the fit of the chute to the deck would need to be correct. Is there anything else I need to check out. Does anyone know where to find the model or part # on a bagger unit? I figure I could compare part #'s from owner manuals and parts breakdowns to compare mounting brackets and chutes to see if they would fit.
Maybe I'm up in the night here and should just go with the correct unit. What do you think?

I have a 1992 GT6000, and I found this Three Bin "Hard Bagger" for my Tractor.

Here is the Model Number: 917.249740...

If you have one of the "Low-Profile" Decks, they don't allow enough "Lift" for bagging...

Included is a picture of the Mounting bracket, and my "Low-Profile" Deck...

I'm in the process of modifying a 54" Deck from a 1997 GT5000 to work with my GT.

Where on your bagger unit did you find the mod#? Ugh, from your picture I probably do have the low profile deck. I just bought this unit back in Feb. and I don't know much about it yet.

The picture shows the mounting bracket that the Bagger Frame mounts on.

Since you don't have the Low-Profile Deck, you should be golden for the proper "Lift" of the clippings, as long as the grass isn't wet...

This applies to the smaller machines, like the LT2000 / 42 inch:
If you happen to find a used bagger on CL, or elsewhere, take along your mulching cover to compare the shape of the deck's opening, and how the chute attaches. Don't let anybody tell you it's a 'universal' fit.
