Interesting. That is different than I have read, but good to know. Why not go for it? You could always resell the deestones if it doesnt work.

Ricson,

Those V61s look great.:congrats: Since you will be using a loader did you get the 4ply or 6ply?

Thanks, These are 4 ply the 6 ply are out of stock. These seem much stiffer then the turfs. 20 psi with the plow up and me standing on tire, These don't squat at all.

It looks ready for anything you can throw at it.

Great looking tractor. I'm curious as to how the V61's will work out for you in wet yard conditions this spring? I'm using Tri-Ribs and they will cut into the grass in tight turns. Excellent griping action but they will leave cuts in the yard if I'm not careful. Let us know how them perform. slkpk

Hey slkpk I can tell you that even in my mushy water logged yard from all the melting snow, even when with the weight of the 54" blade, I didn't experience any cutting of the grass in my yard, even on sharp turns. I would say I experienced more tire damage from the ags while carrying all that weight on the back. As a matter of fact the V61s would actually "repair" or flatten back out the ag tracks if I drove back over them.

midnitetr8tn and Ricson, how well do the V61's work for turns/hills? I have some decently steep areas I need to cross, and need something that will turn well and keep me from sliding sideways on the hills.

Well i spoke with three local jd dealers all give me a different answer?
I ordered Deestone ag 26x12x12 thinking a rounder shoulder will have a better shot at clearing the loader bracket. So i should see them Thurs. Time will tell.

Exto, I have not plowed with the v61's yet, But just driving around in the snow they seem to turn better then the turfs. Heavy rain washed way the snow yesterday :thThumbsU so i will try out on the grass asap.

For steering and turns my V61s worked great in the snow that we got and the sloppy wet yard that came afterward. The added weight of the 54" blade only makes it steer even better. As far as decently sloped/ steep hill sides, I don't have many, but I have not experienced the front end loosing grip and sliding when steering out of or on the slopes of the ditches. Where ever I have pointed my 318 the V61s have kept it on track. With that said I will say this, the tri-ribs would have better lateral hold on the steeper slopes than the V61s.

Ric...thanks for keeping us in the loop. I am eagerly awaiting your results. As I mentioned, I am contemplating a similar move for my 455.

Today I installed the 18x8.50-10 HDAP tires on my 445. I am happy with what I see, I'll be excited to get some more snow and to see how they work compared to the turf tires.

Regards,

Rich
I bet you'll think you got a new tractor. slkpk

Plowed 3-4" of snow last night. The V61s are much better for plowing then turfs.

We are suppose to get our second round of decent snow tomorow.:praying: I can't wait to get more seat time.

I don't think we are supposed to get it, so if you need help plowing, let me know.:goodl:

Will do. Got about 4-5 inches and still going strong... Will go out about 1:00pm to make the first passes of plowing the drive. By then should we have 6+ inches.
