Had a guy respond to my CL ad about wanting LBs. Said he had a 2 stroke Victa AF055 that i could have for free. When i called back he said he already gave it away. No big loss i guess. What would you do with it? What about parts? I have seen these on the net but mostly popular over in England.

Anyone got a pic of the AF055?

From what I've seen on the web, Victas were made in Australia. The ones I've seen look like a basic 2-stroke, lightweight mower. About the size of a 19 inch LB. Depending how old the unit is, I would think parts would a pain to get.

Is Victa still an Australian company?
Answer : In June 2008 Victa Lawncare was sold to Briggs & Stratton Australia Pty. Ltd., part of the U.S. based Briggs & Stratton Corporation, the world’s largest small engine manufacturer and major supplier of engines to Victa. The vast majority of Victa’s mower products continue to be manufactured at the company’s Moorebank NSW head office.

Yep, they were made in Australia. We can't have them over here in this "free" country. That's just another example of how our freedoms are taken away by the like of the EPA and other moronic government entities.Victa has been making 2-cycle mowers as long as Lawn-Boy. Seeing them bought out by Briggs and Stratton is sad in my opinion. I know it's just one step away from ending 2 cycle production at some future point... probably. At 160cc the Victa 2 cycle was bigger than the Lawn-Boy. They had some unique features over the years. Cast iron cylinder, vacuum controlled compression release, remotely mounted air filters, and a low profile design. They even made a 170cc twin cylinder model for a while. I hope they continue production of the 2 cycle Victa for many years.

Amen, rdaystrom! It is sad and alarming how much power unelected buracracies such as the EPA have. They are accountable to no one.
