Does anyone know if there is a way to lock the 3pt hitch in one set position. I am using a backhoe attachment and it would be ideal if I could do this? I checked my manual but only find where it can be set to not drop with the rate knob but it will still raise. The hoe attaches to the 3pt hitch and is then fastened to the frame with special brackets and you have to adjust the height of the hitch to hook it up. Once fastened you should not raise the 3pt hitch.

The lift arms are pretty easy to remove. I take mine off when I have my rear PTO bagger installed.
The hoe mounts to the 3pt hitch lower arms so they are needed to level the attachment, but once positioned and tied to the frame it is rigid and it should not be raised. In other words, it attaches to the 3pt hitch like any rear implement then a pto shaft is coupled to it. It mentions limiting the travel of the arms in the manual but there is no explanation on how to do it.

Ah, maybe I'm using the wrong terminology...
The things that tie the arms to the lift mechanism. My three point bagger mounts in much the same way I bet, but the top link is replaced by a bar on the bagger frame that sits into a slotted bracket that pins on the tractor where the top link goes. This severly limits the downward travel of the 3 point, and the MMM that is all tied in. I wanted to be able to drop the mower as low as possible, whick I was only able to accomplish by removing those arms that lift the three point, after the bagger is installed. I put them back on to remove the bagger.

I see what you mean now. That is a good idea. I may look into disabling the lifting part by unhooking the lift arm itself. The only thing I would need is a bar to replace it as once removed the weight of the implement will cause it to flop to the ground as nothing will be holding up the two hitch arms. It only needs to be suspended by the 3 pt hitch while traveling as the out rigger stabilizers keep the hoe upright while running it.
