Picked up a 460 snowblower for the GT, and got the snowblade back on my wifes quad. Cant wait to dig in.. or out technically. :greendr:

Forecast is looking pretty ugly for the next couple days in the area. Wish us luck!

Looks like between the two of them, you'll have more than enough machinery to move snow. I hear you about what they're saying about IT coming...weatherman says blizzard/whiteout conditions for Tuesday and Wednesday here in northern Iowa. I've got my blower and snowblade aimed at the driveway and ready to go!

Can't wait for the white stuff either.:trink39:

I used to have a GT 5000 with blade and used it for years for my 300' driveway.
Last year I finally bought a 42" blower and it worked fantastic.
It can throw snow about the length of my house (60'). You will love it.

I just sold the GT5000 with the blade and the snowblower some time ago, as I have upgraded to a used Simplicity Legacy.
Actually two of them so now I have one set up with a 60' hydraulic blade and one with a 47" snow blower - so bring it on !

I am in WI myself so let's see how bad it gets.

Just got my blower spinning again, looking forward to using it too.

Shout out for the WI guys!

Thanks everyone. I got to play with the snowblower a little tonight and was very surprised how poor it was working. I did a little reading in the manual and the previous owner had all the shoes way out of whack. The skid shoes were facing down on a steep angle towards the front of the blower, and the leveling shoes were never adjusted down off their stops from the factory. The paint was shiny black on the bottom... they never even touched the ground! Tomorrow afternoon/night is when the horror is supposed to start here... we'll see how the blower does this time around.

The Renegade has an important job also. I use that to smash through all the snowpiles I make with the plow and blower. :)

Yeah I just got the plow mounted last night and got to use it for the first time tonight. Only 2 inches or so but enought to break her out. Needed a little adjustment but that is to be expected. They are still saying 8-14 between tonight and tomorrow night so that will be the real test as to how well the plow works. Good luck to my fellow Wisconsinites and any surrounding states that are about to get some of this storm:trink40:

The previous owner added onto the original skid shoes, and it actually turned out pretty nice. The snow is starting to come down pretty hard here too!!

Any one have any advice for setting the shoes properly? I tried the blower again tonight, and all it seems to do is pick up gravel and leaves all kinds of messed up snow behind. What could I be doing wrong?

as for picking up gravel your going to get that until you have a good base.Leaving a snow mess behind is blower to high,I had that problem but solved it what I do is take 2 paint stir sticks put 1 under each side of blower then lower my shoes flat on garage floor and tighten them down my problem was solved.

Well, how did you all fare in the storm?

We just spent a few hours getting all cleaned out. The snowblower works great! Its just like anything though, still got a little tweaking to do, but its so much nicer blowing this heavy snow than plowing it. This sucker really shoots the snow! I'll vouch too, this 46" blower will definitely bog down the 18HP Briggs if you blow too fast... but this was very deep sticky snow.

Had a little fun afterwards too, until I got the ol' Renegade facewash (those that have rode one know what that means :fing32: ) and got my feelings hurt by getting stuck. :trink39:

I fared pretty well. I was able to hit it a few times and thank god I was. It was soooo wet and heavy Im not sure how it would have turned out. I would say we got no more than 9" so you had much more than I did.

little over 2 hours here 18cm of heavy snow here all cleared. At start i too had to reajust getting used to the toggle switches for actuator lift and chute rotator new this season (in this thread http://mytractorforum.com/showthread.php?t=103580 ) I really like I can raise blower as little or much as I want or need lifting just a tad while turning really impressed me. I don't have a Renegade and my Outlander is hibrinating like a bear now for the winter.

Bring on the sun!!! The snow drifted almost 3' high on my driveway. I am going in for back surgery on Monday, this is the last thing I needed. Thank god it was a snow-day, Had my boy tackle the driveway. I think we have had enough for now.

I got buried with the snowstorm in the NEW area.

Here it was kind of freezing snow coming down, so it packed hard as concrete.
The snowblower was really not too much help as it clogged on me once but worse, it rode up on the heavy snow even with downpressure.
Managed to get the tractor stuck twice and had to pull it out with the other tractor.

FYI for the people asking, I found that the turf tires with chains worked much better than the AG tires on my gravel driveway.

I used the Agco with the 60" plow for 80% of it and it pushed it fantastic.
The snow was higher than the blade, but I lifted it, pushed the top - back up and push the bottom - repeat as needed.

This left about a 4-5' high drift right across my driveway. I ended up taking the snowblower off and putting the FEL back on to dig my way through it. Took me more than 1.5 hours though, but saved my back a lot of work.
I was surprised about how heavy it was as I could stick my bucket in and it would not lift. This one will lift 500 lbs or more, so it was some nasty stuff.

I have the sides of my driveway stacked 4-5' on both sides. I will try and get it down a little over the weekend when it warms up later in the week. It was 4F with windchill of -17F at the house this morning.
