I do not have any pic of it in action, but unless you had a video of blowing the same snow with the upgrade and one without the vid would be meaningless anyway-
But today this thing was throwing like the berco in the youtube video.
5" wet heavy snow that fell over rain saoked ground/pavement. at the end of the driveway, it was 3" of pure slush with a 3" snow covering!
I do not have alot of problems withe SS clogging becasue I know to turn off the PTO when you get the the slush and use it as a plow.
But no more, nothing could stop the SSer. I was throwing pure slush and water! NOTHING could clog it!
I was throwing that crap 20'+ and snow 50'+.
A: You cannot use horse stall mat. The CG of the spinning auger makes it fly right apart and come right off, did not last 5 minutes! (I tried that first)
B) I used 1/8" reinforced baler belt and used two layered pieces off set to allow the first 1/8" actually scrape the inside of the drum. But is is thin enough to bend, 1/4" baler belt is TOO STIFF!
Note the drum (circle) the auger travels in is not as perfect a circle as the 2nd stage in a two stager so this layering method was the trick.
Cost <15$ with rubber, strap and bolts. I used the two holes already in the auger!
It woudl probably work fine just doing one of the two outlet ports but when I ran it that way it was out of balance, so I did both and smooth as silk! (just like they were not even on there)
When I am done blowing the blower is always covered in snow as some just dribbles out, the blower was FREE of snow this time, simply amazing!! The chute and hole were COMPLETLY ice/crap free!
I am making a drawing with dimensions if anyone wants to try it.
This is worth the time and effort to do (and it is actually quite easy) and should take less than 45 mins to complete even if doing it for the first time!
But I wanted to post right away and say how GREAT it worked!
I will post updated drawings with dims later this evening.
But 500% success!!!
YOU NEED TO DO THIS!
no fabrication skills required, just a heavy siccors to cut the 1/8" reinforced rubber, a drill and some wrenches, a hacksaw to but the cross strap!
I'll b back! :trink40:
