This Quick Hitch came with a 54" snowblower and I'd like to know what models it fits so I can sell it. I assume the hitch will fit more models than the frame attachment and PTO shaft. I'm looking to sell the whole kit or I might try and rig it up to the back of my X585 and use it with a 54" plow as a ballast for the snowblower.

Thanks Kenny.

That is a useful link but without pictures it doesn't totally answer my question. I assume the hitch is for a 4100 series based on the sticker on the hitch and that site lists which models would use the same part number as a 4100 but it doesn't have pictures of the frame attachments or PTO shafts, nor do these items have part numbers on them.

You are correct in assuming the hitch fits a 4100 series compact tractor. It will not fit your X585 at all. Best bet would be to sell it and get the correct one for your X series machine. If you can find one for a 425-455 that will work on your machine as well, you will just need to put 90 degree fittings on it to plug in to your tractor and extend the hoses a bit. That whole set up you have there should be worth quite a bit, so you may come out ahead of the game by selling it. Maybe you can ask your dealer and see if someone is looking for that setup, can't help to have another set of eyes and ears.

The x585 requires BM19782 ( i have one for sale right now, PM me if still searching/interested)

JD Parts Catalog refers to your 4100's hitch as part # BM20921

Catalog "where used" search showed the following for BM20921:

If you need additional insights into the PTO shaft kit required for the X585 let me know - there 2WD and 4WD options. I just sold P/N AM132900 4WD PTO shaft online

Thanks Rocky!

For some reason I had trouble finding that information online. I currently have a hitch off a 455 on my x585 with the 4wd PTO. I'd prefer the correct hitch but funds are tight until I sell this one.

You guys make this site worthwhile. Honestly I don't know how I would find the correct parts without this site. My local dealer can't even tell me what fluid goes in the front axle.

JD Parts catalog should become one of your best friends! The youngsters at the dealerships today have not a clue about the 80's and 90's gear I have. Let alone how to attach newer gear to the same. I've been through some of them that are newbies and don't yet know how to navigate the catalog - I end up schoolin' 'em for their sake first and then for my own so future experiences are worry free. For the most part, they're all pretty good hearted so what the heck right?

I PM'd you the same info as what follows - but wanted to add some clarity to the post re: info I provided earlier.

The BM20921 I referred to is the original kit that included the Quick Hitch (+ Hydraulic Lift kit) + Front bracket. Your picture shows both items.

THE BREAKDOWN:
4100 Quick Hitch + hydraulic lift kit - BM18644 now replaced by LVB24898
Front Bracket - AM134116
Driveshaft - AM122349

never mind others fact checking so if I missed something post updates with a smile :) never too old to go back to school
