nuzzy,
found the thread and great work! I had my decals made by a vinyl sign (decal place). They made the hood decals along with the rear transmission decal. I couldn't find the right ones on ebay.

Got motor parts today so stayed after work and put it together. Once back at home I crammed some food, lit a fire to warm the lady, and headed out to the garage to my unassembled GT.

I then assembled, using all new hardware as I went.

For the most part, I'm pleased with how it came out. The hood could be better but I had started to run out of paint (Who woulda thought 8 cans of primer and ten cans of paint wouldn't be enough...) so that'll get some more coats in the next few days. I want it nice and shiny :D

Otherwise, just have to put shrouds back on the motor, torque the head bolts, rtv the oil pan and add oil and she can go back in. Carb rebuild kit should show up tomorrow or the next day so then I can hammer that out and the new wiring. Now that it's 2am, I suppose it's time for a shower before bed just so I can wake up and do it all over again tomorrow :biglaugh:

Hey looks great. Is that a can of Red dog beer in the one pic? I didn't know they still made it.

Oh yes! Beware the Dog :D

I used to drink it back in WA occasionally when I wasn't drinking Rainier. Now that I'm out in MI where Rainier is sadly non existent, Red Dog gets the nod. I do love micro brews, but for a shop beer ya can't beat $13.99 30 packs :biglaugh:

It looks great already and at your pace this thing is going to be sweet in a couple more days. ****, you may as well sell that deere because you're never going to want to use it again

I hate to tell you this but you're going to be cleaning up overspray for the next year

ask me how I know this :fing20:

At least it is Orange over-spray!!!!!! :biglaugh:

Great job on the old GT!! You will not be disappointed with that tractor, they are much better than most of what can be bought new today. PLus you are preserving a small piece of history in the process.
