HI everyone, I have a 2006 , 2305 tractor. I'm very happy with it ... But , does anybody else hate the seat? Can you get a suspention seat for it ? Any help would be wonderfull.
I'm sorry to hear you didn't do your homework before trading. Your right about the seat and there are several options you can do to make it better. The 2305 isn't perfect but for me I liked the styling better than the 2210. Good luck with it in the future. slkpkNot all that glitters is gold....................
I had a nice JD 2210 for 6 years that I sold to upgrade to the newer model 2305.. I was thinking this is the second generation for JD's compact tractor so it must be better than the 2210 I thought...Was I wrong !!!
Well I'm very DISCUSTED with the seat compared to the 2210's seat.. My wife and daughter have trouble reaching the pedals because of the limited seat travel on the 2305 . I have trouble too, and I'm average ht 5.10 and 175 lbs. The seat bottoms out on me and slides back and forth going on hills.. Does anyone at JD test drive these before they go into production? This model has been in production for 3+ years with no fix from from JD according to my dealer.. I blame it on JD management trying to cut cost leaving the consumer to bear the issue. Why not use the 2210 seat mechanism with the higher back seat???
Also other things I compare between the 2210 and 2305.... The 2210 had a fully enclosed engine cowling.. The 2305 has the engine mounts sticking out showing the rusted bolt threads.. Now why couldn't that been addressed during design? Sloppy design by JD. The 2210 had a plastic engine hood dentless like the Saturn cars.. My dealer is replacing mine after 6 hours on it because they took the hood off and dented it in the process......Also I liked the larger fuel cap on the 2210.. Easy to fuel and see the tank level..
If you own a 2210 think twice before replacing it with a 2305.. To many corners were cut in it's design.. Being a new model does not make it better..
I wish I would of kept my 2210....
My wife is 5'1" and she can reach the pedals on the 2305. slkpkWait, wait ..... you're not telling me that my 5'4" wife will not be able to reach the pedals on my newly ordered 2305?? She wasn't going to go tractor shopping with me, and I never thought about whether she would fit.
I'm not trying to make you upset and these are just my thoughts. I tried my 2305 out before I bought it and looked it over very carefully as I would have done with any major purchase. I knew what I was getting before I picked it up. If a better seat was installed on it by JD the consumer would be paying more which wouldn't have bothered me. My dealer at the time of purchase told me the cruise control on the 2305 was a factory only installed option and I bought mine off the lot. I also remember seeing something along those lines in print from JD. Your upset at the ergonomics why? Didn't you try it out before buying? Have you tried the cruise control out yet? 2305 isn't perfect but for the money it ain't bad IMO. I really wish you the very best and hope you get things worked out. slkpkYes I can do alot of things to make the seat better, but why should I? Isn't that JD's responsibility? After all I paid alot for this tractor and would think that ergonomics is a must... You sit on a tractor longer than on a toilet seat. You would think this is a very important matter to be comforable if you using it longer than 10 minutes on rough surfaces...
Another problem I bought this 2305 because JD has a cruise control option... My dealer after butching the hood and cowling to install now tells me they do not work for the 2305 models very good from the JD rep..... So after JD advertising this option for 3 years to sell tractors I find out they don't work..
This is not putting a man on the moon or brain surgery.. But JD can't engineer a cruise option to work on a tractor SOMETHING IS DEFINELY WRONG WITH JD THEN........
Mine is 2.5 years old and I didn't have the cruise installed because it was a factory only option at the time I bought. I was told this by 2 different dealers it was factory installed option only. There maybe a difference between the factory installed and the dealer installation that it might not work as good, but I don't know. What did they do to your hood when you say butchered it and do you have any pics of it? slkpkMy dealer never told me this was factory only install for cruise control on 2305.. Is this true?Does this state this someplace that a dealer can't install it? Does your work OK on your 2305 ? My dealer said the JD rep said they do not work very good on the 2305...
2003 w/metal hood.My jd2210 was a 2003 with a plastic hood...What year is yours with metal?
:ditto: Can you post some pics of your cowling that was damaged?I have cruise, it works just like it should...never heard of one not working properly.
Was that dealer installed from the 150 dollar kit you can buy from John Deere or factory installed? I received the instructions from JD service and they are both step by step and illustrated on the procedure.. Doesn't look very difficult really..I have cruise, it works just like it should...never heard of one not working properly.
