Just bid a nursing home in PA and looked at the proposal info and in it their is a "no lawnboy" clause. Stating that they don't like the look of the offset wheel and want only "normal wheeled mowers". Thought the forum would like to hear this. Now the question, if I get it what mowers should I buy?

As in the third stripe it leaves, or the actual appearance of the mower?

Can you scan that document and post it?

Too bad thats a good client to have because otherwise I'd tell you your client or "communist" is friggin crazy. Some idiot with a lawnboy must have used too much oil twenty years ago and the closed minded whack jobs decided to be prejudiced against Lawnboys.

i saw a craigs list ad of a guy wanting ONLY lawnboys

To clarify, they do not like the look of the 3rd wheel line. Said it doesn't look professional. I have a couple toros that I can put on it if I get the contract. I personally think that is discrimination!:sidelaugh

Sounds weird as heck to me, to actually specify that they DON'T want Lawn-Boys used there. As said by Neal, let's see a scan of the document, I'd hang it up on my wall! :ROF

Also, the more I read the proposal info the more I want to stay away from this place. No velkes or any riding devices that are wheeled which would add any unnecessary lines in the yard.
So are you alowed to walk behind, and leave footprints, or do you have to hover behind the mower???

Here's an idea. Get the contract, and find another old non-lawnboy staggered wheel mower :)

What the heck is all this "3rd wheel" crap?? I've never seen anything like that from mine. They leave 2 square and perpendicular lines with each pass, just like a 4 wheeled squared decker. Somebody's been hittin' the hooch too much I think!!

You know what i was thinking. Once i mowed a lawn with the 3 wheels ( 2 back and one front wheel) and the staggered wheel was in the air because i mowed with a higher setting on the 3 wheels and a low setting on the 1 staggered wheel. Doesnt leave the other line.

the extra wheel line doesnt seem to look bad at all. You really cant notice it much IMO
