Has anyone coated the underside of their mower deck with some type of protection? I have some spray on bed liner stuff or just good old Rustoleum black paint. Opinions? Suggestions?

If this is a used deck, I like to power brush the deck with a heavy wire brush, then I use a rust converter called "Extend" followed by a commercial Farm product called "EZ Slide." It is used for coating chutes, wagon boxes, etc, for the smooth non stick sliding of grains. Wears very well and not a lot is required, so both products are afordable.

If it still has paint, spray it with PAM or generic cooking spray a couple times a year.

Not sure what you mean by"forget about it." Do you have some personal experience with EZ Slide? You also say, "have to look for the EZ Slide."??
If it will stand up load after load on a 6 or 8 inch chute through a harvest season, should lastthe life of a mower deck, No?
