Hi,
I got tired of fighting back the weeds on some of my property this summer, so I burned it and then hit everything green (excluding trees) with weed killer, over and over. Well, I suceeded, everything died. This farmer came by one day looking at what I had done and said, "better not kill it off any more, might wash all your topsoil away" a chill ran over me, hadn't thought about that.
I had several pounds of turnip seed I had saved and sowed them over as much area as I could. They came up, but didn't stay put, collected in different spots further down the hill.
I've tried in the past to get grass started in the winter, no luck. Anyone know anything I could throw on top of the ground that will come up in cold weather. I'm in N. Alabama, it's mild compared to most places, but still pretty cold at times.
Thanks
David
