cnc-me I agree with Steevo on the on the nice work . I was thinking though the roller is missing one item it needs a scraper blade to peel off material that gets stuck to it , perhhaps a extention to the frame beyond the pillow blocks to mount a strip of light gauge metal across back of the roller and hinged so it can lift if the roller is rolling in reverse should do the trick .
:thanku:
Has not been a problem, if anything does stick on it, a quick pass down
the driveway removes it. :trink40:

I built These so my wife could clean out the horse barn; All aluminum parts except the cylinders; Total shipping weight 127lbs; Lifting capacity 750lbs, Made for 300 series And 425/445/455/series Hook up to stock hydraulics. They were a fun project,

Here's a rear weight box for my 112 from an old MTD snowblower I purchased from a farm auction for $17.50. I filled the blower full of small rock. The cover over the rock was once part of a 2 x 4ft 3 bulb light I got at a garage sale for $1. I have a shot of the blower pre-scavenge. Also a shot of a bagging system I made from some 3/16 tubing, a 32 gallon trash can and 6ft of stove piping. All items work great!

This looks like a great thread to revive. I'm just curious what all has been created since the last post. I'm currently working on a hitch for my 3pt on my Bolens HT20. I plan on attaching one of those slide in hitch carry all's to it for toting around my chainsaw and firewood to the and from the fire pit. I figured it would be a great way to carry weight when using the snow plow as well. Not to mention it'll make it easier to move around any of my hitched items. I'll have to post some pictures once I get a little more finished.

My current lineup, some are incomplete/not fitted to tractor yet. Several other ideas on the hypothetical drawing board that will be gotten to before long, but not time to show them off until done.
Tractor is 18hp Kohler Magnum custom built Lawn Boy 4wd hydrostat hi-low range with power steering and 3 point hitch CAT 0 I built with hydraulic top link. I don't even know how you could use 3 point with fixed top link after using this thing. Anyway this is about attachments right?

Custom built 60" rear discharge finish mower (it loves to rough cut as well) John Deere commercial deck, 18hp Kohler Magnum doesn't care about anything. Awesome machine. Tongue offsets if needed. Remote pto operation using factory pto switch on dash of tractor or switch near front of tongue.

Cat 0 draw bar not pictured.
Homemade CAT 0 to sleeve hitch adapter with receiver hitch attachment
Craftsman 100# broadcast spreader
Agri-Fab de-thatcher
Agri-Fab core plug aerator (likely to be converted to 3 point in future)
Brinly rear blade/box combo converted to three point
Brinly 3 pt 12" moldboard plow
Brinly 3 pt tandem disc
Homemade 4 wheel wagon
Receiver hitch mounted hoist/crane attachment
46" single stage snowthrower power chute rotator, will be 3 point with 13hp Honda power
60" modified Wheel Horse snow plow with trip springs
30 gallon spot sprayer, come spring it will be skid mounted with a boom. By then I'll have built pallet forks for 3 pt to pick it up with.
Hitch rack / carry-all

Have you made a build thread for that mower, it looks cool

No I haven't, I actually didn't build this one, I couldn't have built it for anywhere close to what I paid for it. Some of the fab work isn't as pretty as I'd like but its overbuilt just right and is incredibly functional. I did re-wire it completely after I got it... that wasn't their strong suite lol

Adapted a Troy-Bilt Tiller chipper to fit my 112 JD, so a little factory, a little homemade.

Nice refresh. Guys like JDfreak and bigblue weren't even around when this was last active and look at all the stuff bigblue has done. :thThumbsU

Wow, it has been a long time since I posted in this thread!

I just finished building a 48" Cat 0 soil pulverizer. These work great for maintaining crushed limestone drives. they break up the packed down gravel and fill potholes nicely, and unlike a back or box blade, fill them in without moving lots of material around.

I built this with a piece of 6"x6"x48" I beam and 25 teeth from an old spike tooth harrow. Those teeth are VERY hard steel. The teeth are spaced 4" apart and the rear row is offset by 2" from the front row. I hope to test it out later today. Not sure what color I am going to paint it yet...probably black since the 2 tractors I have to pull it are differant colors.

check out the Landpride site for pics of these working in gravel. I probably won't add the rear roller, that is really more for black dirt work.

would railroad spikes work for a reasonable period of time or would they be too soft compared to the harrow spikes?

Hardness has nothing to due with wearing away.

Being hard, the tines will be stronger, and not bend, :fing32:

To resist wear, the tines need a different alloy of metal....

or coated with the alloy on the wearing side,,,,

Agri supply pn 26607 is a good cheap weldable harrow tooth for $2.50 each. They worked well on my root rake.

In real world equipment hardness is very important where abrasion is part of the job. I do a lot of work with AR plate in pistol ranges and also have hardfaced shear knives on scrap shredding equipment. Soft machine steels dont stand a chance in either of those applications.

For an occasional hobby machine, railroad spikes will do fine.
