Hey Guys,
So I'm out in the garage and my wife comes out and says "how dare you sell OUR mower?" Apparently, I left my ebay auction page open and she got all bent out of shape because I was trying to sell the mower we bought when we bought our first house together. I don't know if I should be happy or mad. Anyhow, I ended the listing and told her something like "now you know how I feel every time you complain about a mower and I have to go sell it." She should have kept her mouth shut! Hahaha!

I know this was address to "Hey Guys", and I don't qualify, but a couple thoughts come to mind:

1. It sure seems interesting at your house. (Reading your posts about "Selling My Stuff" and then 4 days later "Last One For Real...")

2. If I had a husband, and he had as many lawnmowers as you, I would not know one from the other. All your mowers look about the same to me. So you might actually have a rather lawn-mower-ish loving wife, just in the fact that she recognizes one of the mowers.

3. I think if I had a husband and he had all those lawnmowers, one of those shelf thingies one guy on here has, might make me happier than tripping over them in the garage every day.

So yeah, just my .02

Im sure glad someone showed up to reveal that not only men visit these forums but women as well. I was kinda getting irritated by so many threads started with, Hey Guys, and the like, as if this is a mens club or something. I realize men outnumber women in this type hobby in large numbers, but there are some pretty tech savy women around as well. Not to mention many wives of male members taking a look around.

I hope more of you speak up and let us know how you feel about the comments you see in these threads.

Thanks for your comments Sabrina

:thanku:, but this IS a mens club!!! i feel like i am peeking in a window or something. :hide:but i am learning a lot. i do feel rather silly even commenting, though. probably would not have hit send but at the end of typing i got a phone call and then realized my dog disappeared so was not paying attention...

(i did find the dog down the road at the neighbors, thankfully)

My wife supports my collecting habit also she likes the forum as much as I do. She does not like to see me sell one unless its some oddball or something junky. The biggest regret I ever made was selling my rare Gravely 817 riding tractor. She told me not to but I did, Now I listen when she talks. I sold it and used the money to buy a tractor called a Homesteader go look that up on the net and see what a fool I was

Dear Ladies & Guys,
All I'm going to say is I'M sick of looking at all of them at this point and now the wife puts up the red flag on one I consider "undesireable". Yes, things are weird around here and yes I am a flaky flip-flopper. I kinda feel like a parent with grown up kids he should kick out of the house but yet he'd feel lost without them around. Weird? Yes.

Yes, that's the 10324 I had on ebay for $100. I'm fairly certain it just needed a tuneup but I'll give it to my old neighbor (he has a v pusher) before I sell it for less than that.

I'm in Cottage Grove, WI.

Thank you all for listening to my rants. Thought this topice would be more amusing than irritating to most but maybe I was wrong? Am I wearing on people's nerves here? Should I defect to the gardenweb? I'm re-entering the workforce soon (hopefully) so you probably won't see too much of me around here anywho...

One last thing. I think I realized I had a problem when I came to the conclusion that I would rather sell my Charger than not have a two stroke Lawn Boy mower. That's really wrong...

Heck no dave, I knew you were just ranting in fun and value your wife more than a lb, LOL thats why I posted what I did, no one here would think you were on the verge of cracking :ROF

dont leave here.

hey let her read this thread hehe

your wifes a keeper; she is only looking out for your best interest. maybe she doesnt want you working too much by having too many of those lb's around, I dunno....

I used to kid around in fun with my wife amongst friends too. She always referred to herself as my "straight man". She'd just roll her eyes and shrug me off. haha and she knew hanging out on MTF with the boys (oh, and any females who wandered in!) was a good thing.:trink39:

That would have been a no brainer for me... LOL Every man has his object of passion.

Dear Ladies & Guys,

oh :sorry1:, i don't think it is irritating at all, i thought it was hilarious. i didn't mean you are flaky or anything. i just probably didn't put enough smiley faces in the post due to my dog taking off.

this is coming from a woman ok. but please know that i have absolutely no idea how many sewing machines i own. SERIOUSLY. and i have two washing machines, and two ironing machines, (no, not two IRONS, two machines that iron from about oh, 1940) and three refrigerators. etc. etc. i once owned 5 cars just for one person. and there are other things i am too embarrassed to even mention. so i do understand completely. please forgive me if my comments made you feel bad, it was not the intention at all!!!

well , my wife can change her own oil in her van and has been around mechanics all of her life. She says marry a mechanic cause they can fix anything. Im sure she could fix a Lawn-Boy , she just does not see it the same way. My wife , its a lawn mower, me , Its a Lawn-Boy not just any mower. Of course she sees it my way when I say its not just a car its a Volkswagen. Are there any girls out there that look here??

You weren't the one that I thought was annoyed. No offense taken. I actually think I have a problem that needs to be cured. Maybe some of the others that post more in response to my rants are the ones I thought I was ticking off. I don't know how many lawn mowers I have and I feel bad every time I "give up" (scrap) one. I have machines at four different locations and my dad isn't helping me much as he keeps buying them and then asks what he should do with them. I can't even keep up with my own!
