Howdy folks,

Great thread. You guys should really be proud of yourselves for doing such a good job.

I came across a Lawnboy 22260 for parts last week that has an odd gas gauge in the gas tank. Did these commercial models come with a gas gauge?

Thanks,
Bob

Not that is just someones add on :)

Asking a question on fuel mixture for my 10323. Dont know if I should post a new thread on it or not, so if I do, let me know..here it is...

I went to mix a new container of fuel for my LB. I have been using the Torco GP7 echoman sent me (good stuff!)

My container is 2 gal, 8 oz. I dont know why they make it that size. they just do.

the torco calls out for 4 oz per gal for a 32:1 mix

and dummy me I *think* the last container I mixed, I put 4 oz to the entire container. It still ran alright. At least I think thats what I did as I was using the same device for measuring the oil out, and I dont recall using a little over 8oz for that whole container of fuel.

So....think I damaged it? Pulling the plug and looking down the rabbit hole, will that give me a good idea? Wish I had a borescope...maybe I can take my mower in with me next trip to the proctologist.

If it's still running Ok, it's probably OK. You just used 16:1.
Just be sure to mix the next batch properly. :hide:

Actually I think he was running 64:1... 64 parts fuel to 1 part mix. Not lethal but pretty weak on the oil part.

Silly silly Edward! :00000060: At least you were running "gold" through it @ 64:1! If it still held together in that FL heat, you're probably okay. Are you POSITIVE you mixed 2 gallons and not only 1 with the 4 oz of oil? If the M series survive on 64, not sure why a Duraforce couldn't swallow up 2 gallons and survive just fine.

Glad we got you on the "good stuff" in time! :hide:

I am pretty sure I did 2gal full container. I put in the oil to te 2 gal jug then fill it with fuel from my 10 gal container.
I think thats what I did, put it to 64:1. I might have done it 32:1 but I dont think so.
Just mowed with it 32:1 and it did buzz a little different in heavy grass under load than before. So....

Well it still is running and not spitting metal.

Not spitting metal is good!

i finally used up my dino and its onto my stash of torco. i noticed the plastic bottles are getting soft and gooie! i read a post about this also happening to mobil 1 2t bottles also. this could become a long term storage issue for us that have hoarded 2t. will we have to put them in the freezer? wouldnt the wifes love that!

I don't think my wife would like that too much Danno, but I'm thinking the bottles may be degrading due to all of the recycled plastic these bottles are made from these days. I'll be using less Torco also due to my stash of 2T which so far are still in "firm" quart bottles.

Hmmm, 2 sentences and many mentioned "bottles". What do I win Mr. Johnson?

For correct spelling, you get a genuine "Duck and Cover"...

When did I become "Mr. Johnson" ? Jeez!
