Just throwing this out there but i flipped a lt155 this summer and that was really a nice little machine very easy to operate and very cheep to buy but it was just a lawn mower i wouldnt ask it to do anything more then that
Good to know. Craigslist seems to have several LT133's or LT155's at a price point I can work with. And to be honest, mowing is probably all it will ever do. The GT's and GX's would be awesome down the road, but budget constraints may take precedence at this time.

I sold this 1 for $800 kind of wish i would of kept it ..it really was a nice little machine

Anything from an LX255-289AWS, a GT225 or GT235, or as others have said a 425 with AWS. And I'm glad to see another CC GT2550 owner as well.

Wow! I definitely got a LATE start to this party, you are at the other end of the spectrum for sure!!!
I know lol, I just kinda threw my opinion out there without reading the rest.

No, not a reference to your answer at all, just the age that you became interested in John Deere's. I wait for retirement, you got started before you can drive. Lol. Thanks for the input!
Lol no problem. My neighbors dont mind me driving around the neighborhood, cause they all go around on their bikes and ATVs. I could drive the Ford tractor when I was little and I've even been driving the cars and trucks a little. The next step is to learn how drive the old F-600 with a 5-speed :fing32:

20 year run on the Lowes Special is worthy of a little respect :fing32:

I'm curios about what mom thinks about all this. She might want her lowes special fixed back up for another 20 years. My parents even my dad aren't able to mow the grass anymore and they are younger than your mom. Trust me you would rather see her mowing the grass than sitting inside feeling useless. Let her mow for as long as she's able and be glad she can :fing32:

Just what you said. I think she would be O.K. with a new mower as long as it's easy enough to operate. I'll get some pics of the Lowe's special. It's quite amazing the things that last, when they really shouldn't. This has truly been a gas and go mower! Oil change? What's that?

Dangerous gas cap? :Stop:

Edit: I looked at the pictures before I looked at what you wrote..........at first I wasn't even sure that was the gas tank...:sorry1:

She needs a new mower!

Zip tie holding the fuel tank in place and a pile of oil on the footrest........ohhhh:lalala:

That thing's @** has certainly been kicked many times, but it's still going good! That tractor is a complete oxymoron almost, a box store mower lasting more than 10 years. :sidelaugh

I've seen far worse after 20 years. Looks like it held up quite well IMO. Heck a good bath and cleaning may bring forth a whole new perspective on it :thThumbsU

I'm guilty of being sentimental I reckon. Anything that takes a beating for 20 years deserves a second chance I think. It's just hard for me to scrap old faithful equipment
