801 Power steering

New to the tractor scene so forgive me ahead of time for any ignorance!!!

I bought a 801 select-o-speed with a loader a few weeks ago but I am having a problem with the power steering fluid leaking... It is leaking fluid from between the reservoir and the lid of the reservoir. I replaced the seal and made sure everything was good and snug but it still is wanting to spew fluid.

Does anyone have any thoughts or a cure for this???

Glad to have you here. I just bought an 860 about a month ago, or so (no power steering, though). Check out the whole site... there's a LOT of information here.

Is it possible that the lid of your reservoir is warped?

Okay... Sorry for the delay, my internet got knocked out for a few days by a wind storm!

As far as the fluid, no it is not overfilled.

Air in the line? Not sure how I would even check this one!?!?

The lid, Flat as my wife's pancakes!

Well... perhaps it should be domed (some of the power steering reservoir lids were somewhat domed)... which would give a little extra 'reach' to the fastening bolt...

I'm just not really sure what to tell you.

Can you snap a couple of pictures and post 'em? That'd help give us a visual to go along with it....

Hopefully we'll come up with something for you before too long...

If the filter is plugged it will cause it to push out and on my 62 4000 I had to make a gasket out of rubber that was thicker than the origanal even after replacing the filter.
