I found some at my local Autozone, I asked if it was being discontinued and he looked at me like I was crazy. He said they just got an order in on Wed.. I didnt buy a quart yet, trying to see if I can find it somewhere else. Its $8 a quart around here. If anyone finds a better deal on this, let me know!

According to Mobil, it has ceased it's production last fall. There must be some warehouse stock piles showing up to refill what stores have sold. I paid $7.19 plus tax at AutoZone last week. $7.69 total per quart. You're not far off of the mark at all.

I'm not sure if Advance ever carried it. I would check a 20 mile radius of the "Zones" where you live to see if they have it. Are you out of the GP-7? I can send you more of that or 2T, which ever you want.

I just bought out my local autozone, all two quarts!!! Said they had more coming and hadn't heard it was discontinued. Didn't get to try it this weekend. When I do this week and have a sucessful trial (like I won't after hearing all about it) I'll go back and see if any more came in.

mobil is clueless! now thats its discontinued -its popularaity has finally caught on. auto zone is also clueless.how many times has one of us asked for it there -only to be told they never carried it and never heard of it
Basically because most A.Z. employees are cluless anyway to most automotive concepts, diagnostics and repairs. Doing what a computer tells you to look for, or strapping a $150 dollar stainless muffler on a $400 85' Civic trying to be "fast-n-furious" don't exactly qualify you as an ASE certified mechanic. After about 15 minutes in the store the other day, and me explaining to the kid what I was after and why, the kid still didn't understand it was a 2 cycle oil. I gave up.......bought the goods and left quietly. Most are just high school kids trying to earn a few bucks.

That's funny Dan - this weekend I dusted a kid in a furious little civic with my wife's new Honda Odyssey van :bananapow

Working at VW , I don't know what kids think. Putting a cold air intake on and its the lowest part of the engine and wonder why #1 connecting rod is blow out the back. Sucked up water and hydrolocked the engine.

It's not just kids though Shawn. I've tried to understand why Jeep/Diamler-Chrysler, would mount an alternator to the bottom, just under the rubber splash shield of the 4.0's?? My Cherokee is set up this way, yet my buddy that works for me has an 01' Wrangler 2.5, and his is right on top-where it should be. Last time I checked this out, most electrical items, especially turning masses that generate electrical energy don't usually hold up well when under water!!! Keeps the Cherokee mostly on dry land at all times or not splashing around in puddles over 1 foot deep!!! So much for the stream crossings. Those dudes are not cheap to replace! Mine actually cracked through the case. Still had output, it would just start to howl every now and then.

I can see where having that at the bottom will cause problems. I really want to talk to the people who design cars as to what they are thinking when they put some of this stuff together. Of course there are the bean counters that play into that mix too.
