Yep, I ran into a bad one years ago on some old collectable car I was doing a little work on. Replacement was available at that time from the dealer.

hello

here are some pictures of the rag joint , when i put the other end in the vise , i can easly (little force) turn the rag endtill it locks against the metal , about 1/2 inch is this normal for this amount of play , and if the front end checks out tight could this couse the wondering across the road ?

well heres the latest , there are no replacement rag joints availale for the truck , the options are new shaft from gmc (yea right ) junk yard (probably wind up with the same problem ) or as cleatus said make your own (the m.t.f. way) will take pictures as i go .

hello

here are the pictures of the new rag joint and installed no slack at all , money saved $30.00 to $200.00 , now on the other end there is a universal joint that needs repack and a rubber put on it , thinking of maybe a small split boot c.v.joint cover ? any ideas for anything else , let me know .
