Boy do I feel dumb! :banghead3

I don't have a garden tractor newer than the early 1980's and try to pride myself on learning the ins and outs of each one and what makes it tick. Nearly all of my garden tractors are the large frame Landlord and Sovereign series Simplicities and Allis B series, but I just got an old Broadmoor 727 put together and have been using it to mow the tight areas around the house.

I put the front snow/dirt blade on it the other day to do some leveling where we pulled out a bunch of overgrown shrubs to make room for a patio. About 20 minutes into it, it would barely move. When I put it together I thought maybe I should get a new belt, as the old one looked marginal. Wanting to finish the job, I tried adjusting the tensioner to no avail. So off to town I went to get a new belt. Got it on and fired it up and still no go!

Getting off to survey things I noticed the left rear wheel was sticking out a lot farther than the right. I forgot that this model of Simplicity used a through bolt to hold the hub onto the axle and that it had either sheared or came loose!:banghead3

Put a new bolt in it and off we went. Coulda saved myself some time and money if I had just not ASSUMED!

Sometimes we just don't think things thru. At least it wasn't an expensive mistake.
Glad you figured it out and got it fixed.!!!
