Would someone be kind enough to post some pics of thier Wheel Horse with the mower deck on. Im looking for pics of the belt routing, mule drive, and how the deck hooks to the tractor.

I have a 14 h.p. tractor with hydro. lift.

Thank You. DAVE

Hopefully someone will come along for you but if not I'll see if I can take a picture of one of the pictures in a manual I have ( can't do it til Monday though). I have the whole set-up but it is off the tractor.

Hope this helps, and I have washed the tractor since taking these pictures. If you need any additional ones let me know and I can take some for you.

Basically the belt comes off the PTO to the front Mule drive then to the deck center pulley. It attaches with a single bracket into the "attach-o-matic" making sure that the V bracket on the mower mount slips into the bar for the hitch.

What model tractor do you have, if it is a C-Series it is identical.

Dave, if you have a C series (or 300, 400, 500) series, the deck attached to the tractor in 1 place, the attach-a-matic (seen just under the fan shroud and pto in the pics above). There is a lift bracket which slides into the slot on the mower deck, and the belt routes from the PTO, to the Muel drive, to the mower deck.

Now those are what I call TRACTORS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pity Toro for giving up on one of the best lawn and garden tractors ever.

They knew close to nothing about the art of Tractor making. So they bought Wheel Horse. And messed it up. Now they are back to where they where in the late '80's. No real tractor in the line up.

Is that a big ONAN flat head opposed twin I see?:bannana:

Thank you, yep, that is a big ole Onan sittin in there. And I don't think that Toro messed up Wheel Horse, infact they gave us many more years of the classic which would have become extinct long ago if Toro didn't buy them up. My 416 is Toro built and built very nicely, it is tight and comfortable.

What I mean by messing it up is:

They should have taken the great platform that WH gave them on a silver platter and continued to refine it. If they did, I probably would have taken much longer to decide on the X300 I have. It's a great tractor in it's own right, and does well for what it is intended for.

-But - The WH classics are working machines with a near bottomless reserve of durability and strength. When you build something that goes for 30-40 years it can put you under.:greendr:

Does the whole deck raise and lower or just the front ?
The entire deck will raise and lower by the hydraulics, the deck height is set by the rear gauge wheels not by the hydraulic lift.

looks like I need to start searching for a mule drive. any ideas where to start looking ?
If you live anywhere near Gettysburg PA the Wheel Horse show is next month with a huge Wheel Horse only flea market. If not check out any tractor show in your area, most have people selling used parts.
